2003 Civic EX - JDM transmission issues
Hello friends,
I recently had a local transmission shop put a rebuilt transmission into my 2003 civic EX. After about 50 miles I had my CEL come on w/ code P0715, pointing to an error with the transmission speed sensor. I put an entirely new speed sensor in and drove the car for another 40 before the CEL came on again with the same code.
The car still seems to shift well, but I cannot pass emissions with a CEL so I need to get this fixed. I suspect the reason I am getting this code is because the shop that did my transmission put a JDM SLXA transmission in the car.
Does anyone else have a SLXA transmission in a car intended to have a BMXA and have/had similar issues? Is there a fix for this? I'd like to do my homework before I take the car back to the shop since the owner has been less than pleasant to deal with.
Thx in advance for any help

Re: 2003 Civic EX - JDM transmission issues
Since no one has replied, I've read on this forum that the JDM trannys are indeed different and need the JDM ecu as well as possibly the harness to function properly.
I've never gone through this nor am I in any way an expert. I would recommend using Google to search for your transmission or even looking in the FAQ in the forum.
either way, if it's a transmission related issue and they just replaced it, they should fix it.
