Project Acura Legend (updated regularly)
Hey guys, just picked up an 87 Legend Sedan 5spd for free. Now I want you to keep in mind that it was completely free as you look at these pics. haha.
It's currently sitting in the middle of a field, collecting dust, bugs, and smell. The guy that gave it to me told me it blew a head gasket but besides that, it's a great runner. So I'm thinking either fix the head gasket, or swap in the 2.7L from the 88-90 Legends. Any for sale? Is this a bolt on swap? Anyways, heres the pics.
Actually doesn't look bad in this shot...
Note the bird/rats nest in the engine bay
Grungy interior
So our first step was to clean out the interior... this involves taking out all the seats, center console, carpet, etc. We're gonna shampoo the carpet and try to find new seats.. (any for sale?)
Couldn't get the drivers seat yet cuz theres no battery in the car, and we cant reach the back 2 bolts without moving the power seat up.
Anyways, thats all we've done so far... it was our first day working on it. Next post I'll include a full list of our plans. Now before you say, "it's not worth it" this project is more for the experience than anything else. Thanks for looking!

You should post that in the "Cleanest engine bay" thread and see how many people get pissed off!

starts right up
Went to work on the car today. It's a pain having it sitting in that field. We're towing it to a garage soon. Hooked up a battery to the car so we could pop the trunk, but the key needs to be in the ignition to move the power seat forward, and guess what? You guessed it.
WE HAVE NO KEY
Went to the Acura dealership with the VIN number and title, but they couldn't cut a key for me cuz I can't show proof of ownership. (Car was given to me, I haven't registered it yet.) So I guess I'm gonna take the lock from the glove box to a locksmith and have a key made. Then we can move the seat forward, and finally take up that carpeting.
TO DO LIST
Finish stripping interior
Remove 2.5L Legend motor
Primer/Paint engine bay (black)
Swap in 2.7L Legend motor
Swap in newer interior
Primer/Paint/Clearcoat car (gloss black)
PARTS NEEDED (pm me if you got 'em)
2.7L Motor/ECU
Grey Leather Front/Back seats
Headlights/taillights
90-91 Prelude Si Steering wheel
Looking over what I just wrote, this project seems like it'll be a crapload of work. I don't know if in the end it'll be worth it, but I'm determined to find out.
