JDM/Mugen EK Civic Si (from Oz!)
Hi all,
I've finally finished my Civic Si project so I thought I'd share some pics of my new ride - it's taken me about 1 year to get it to where it is today (shipping takes soo long to get to Oz from the States!) - I've included some pics below so look forward to hearing your opinions
I went for a clean OEM look and all the parts for the car are either genuine Honda or Mugen - I've tried aftermarket, and they just don't fit the same or crack/ fall apart.
Enhancements include:
Exterior
Genuine Civic Type R front under spoiler
Genuine Civic Type R front grille
Genuine Civic Si rear under spoiler (rare)
Genuine Mugen Ferio rear wing with badges (rare)
Genuine Civic color coded side skirts and bumper moulds
Genuine Civic Si 15' wheels (rare)
Genuine Civic Si badges
Midnight Express window tint (30% front/ 15% rear)
(Tein suspension to come)
Interior
Genuine Civic Type R shift boot
Momo gear shifter
Alpine deck
300W 6x9 Infiniti rear speakers
100W Boston Acoustic front speakers
Engine/Exhaust
Stainless steel high-flow cat (Catco)
Hi-Tech 2" exhaust with sports muffler and 4" angle tip

This thread should be moved to the appearance forum
I think a good addition you should look into is the Domani or Acura 1.6EL outer tail lights

Hi guys, I've been a bit lazy with my updates but I've had some annual leave from work (arr... lol) and I've managed to get a few jobs done on the Civic!
Got decals made up from local sign shop and fitted (almost stuffed one up when sticking cause letters are pretty thin):
By civica at 2010-08-26

By civica at 2010-08-26
Fitted Civic door sill garnish set:

By civica at 2010-08-20
By civica at 2010-08-26
Installed EK centre console/armrest:
Item was in good used condition - bit of TLC brought it up like new, but found out the ashtray on our normal aus spec Civic's don't fit in this one - so now have huge hole at the back because guy who sold it to me didn't have the original ashtray! Will have to come up with some type of solution...

You wouldn't believe I actually found the original factory tag underneath one of the seats (not stitched, just had some sticky on it) so looks like they've come from a pretty clean 96 Integra Type R.

Re: JDM/Mugen EK Civic Si (from Oz!)
Yeh I got it from Sir Ash on the forum - he had a brand new one that he'd never used - it was originally night hawk black - but yes - very very lucky he was willing to sell it to me and ship it to Australia!
Yeh true that car does look good you posted I did think about it, but then I looked at the side inidcators and saw they were orange and then thought it might look a bit not quite right... so just left as is for time-being
Haha, yeh I thought I got an original from a guy off this forum but he sold me a replica at pretty much full rate, so I got done big time. He said he didn't know at the time and promised to reimburse me 50% of the cost and surprise surprise I never heard back from him... He's lucky I'm a pretty nice guy and haven't posted this all over his for sale thread to make others wary of him... d*ck
Thanks mate!
Cheers!
Ha, funnily enough I did think about getting black ones, but very hard to find in Oz...
Thanks mate! Yeh alot of people don't seem to like wings these days, but I'm all for them, especially if it's OEM or JDM. Some cars just look better with a wing IMO

black mugen NR's are very nice, might be a little big though, i think they only come in 17" and 18". i have mirror face 15's on my 2000 civic, they look great, but i want white ones as well. or 15" mirror face MF10's, but good luck finding those

Re: JDM/Mugen EK Civic Si (from Oz!)
No worries at all, thanks for posting and looking at my thread!
I was tossing up what to put on the side, I originally bought a Mugen Power decal but didn't quite look right, and I knew it needed something so got some SOHC VTEC labels printed from local sign shop (UV coated and everything - was 100 bucks in ozzie dollars) - even though it's a D16Y4... but only we know that right lol
Yeh, thanks man. I wanted it practical and didn't want to spend a fortune on SuperStreet coilovers - and I can still get up my driveway and over speed humps without scraping. Funnily enough the only this I've hit since lowering is the muffler tip backing into a driveway LOL
Exactly!
Cheers - thanks man
Ha, yeh just not practical for me + heard spoon springs do a pretty decent job/compromise between sport and comfort
The only thing it really needs would be spoon sports fixed springs/ or koni adjustables - not keen on coilovers for a daily. Overrated IMO + the spoons keep it so composed through any bumpy corners as well - doesn't bounce like some coilovers do, so the handling is fantastic. I gues a rsb would be nice, maybe an EK4 - CTR might be too much - think they're a 22mm - but not sure it will clear the exhaust plus would have to get ASR brace to go with it and just don't have the money atm

WELL DONE!
Your car is beautiful!
I love those lips.
Aren't the front and rear "under spoilers" both Type R?
Or is that another oem si lip in another country (Im in US)?
Just curious because I would love to have those.
Actually I'd love to have your car + domani outer lights
Do you have any more pics of the seats installed? Like in daylight, Im interested in seeing the interior unless you are saving those for a transformation photo shoot
