weird miss fire....02 Honda accord 4 cylinder
02 Honda accord coupe. 5spd. 4 cylinder..
Car has check engine light on.
Codes are knock sensor
Random miss fire on all 4 cylinders.
Aight from the start. Car runs sluggish. Only sometimes. 80 percent. But I have become use to the engine and can get her to catch. When she does she gooooes. Plenty power like nothing's wrong.
No please note that the work listed is done because of the miss. Remaned head from carparts.com new head gasket. New dizzy cap wires and plugs. New egr vavle...
Ok...all of that done and the miss still remains.
So here I come in to play. I just bought the car because the previous owner said he didn't wanna put anymore money in it.
So I bought it.
Here's my question.
Can it be rings.
Can it be ecu.
If it was missing b4 the work that rules out head vavles top end. All injectors are firing. Doesn't have a new dizzy they only changed the cap. I am doing a compression test this weekend. Any body got any advise. Replacing knock sensor tomorrow.

Never assume anything.
What is the ACTUAL code, descriptions from most OBDII readers can be misleading.
Verify the battery cables are clean and tight.
Verify the ground wires and connections on the engine and body are clean and tight.
Verify the battery is fully charged and holding a charge.
Verify the valves are correctly adjusted.
Verify the timing belt is
Verify correct fuel pressure.
Check spark plugs, how do they look?
Verify the crankshaft sensors behind the timing belt are not fouled up. Clean them if they are covered in oil and ferrous material.

What brand of spark plug wires are you using?
Honda had Smitomo and Prestolite made spark plug wires.
NGK is one of the few, if only, aftermarket brand that also has the correct boot design.
Most other aftermarket(re:cheap parts store sets) wires do not have the correctly moulded spark plug boots and will either not properly seat, or pop off when the engine gets hot.

You can get NGK from rockauto. Google "rockauto coupon code" before buying. put the code in the "how did you find out about us".
