Default tsx 6speed in accord?

I intend to make a swap in my 2002 accord coupe, I have the engine wich is a h23 block with dohc vtec h22 head wich engine will be turboed, anyway that's not the question.

the question would be, does the 6speed transmission from the acura tsx may fit on that block? I know that all "F" and "H" transmission are the same, but is the tsx engine is an "F" or "H" series??

that would kick some butt if it can be fitted

in that case I will use maybe my accord tranny with quaife lsd or f22b tranny with quaife lsd, don't know but I need some kind of acceleration but I just love too much top speed to let it away.

anyway for accleration with 20psi of boost on a h23/h22 fully built engine it will give me a good acceleration even with long gearing

The TSX engine is a K24. One of the main reasons it won't bolt up to an F or an H, is that it rotates opposite from them. But there are other variables too.

20PSI on an H23/H22 frankenstein, pretty hopeful are you, eh? How do you intend to get there??

your going to boost 20psi with a h23 vtec....i hope your building up the motor while your at it.

anyways what's the point of doing a h23 vtec when you'll have to lower compression alot to run 20psi?? the extra torque isn't that big of deal since your going turbo, i would have just used a h22.

A "fully built" h23/h22 with 20psi should make 400+ hp to the wheels

using a frankenstein makes 0 sense

use an h22a transmission

i think the h23 tranny would be best since he's going turbo, longer gears are better for turbo.

i guess he should go with the h23 tranny if hes going the turbo route. longer gear ratios are better for holding boost in any gear.

i say f22 tranny, the h23 and h22 trans are VERY close in gearing, the f22 is alot longer.

i doubt the f22 tranny will hold up. people with f22 trannies and h22s say they don't last long.

thats because the f trannies are built for the economy motors. any tranny (h or f) doesnt like high rev shifting. the h22, h23 ratios are almost identical. the f is the tranny with longer gears.

Where are you guys getting this stuff?

Long gears are not better for turbo applications. Thats a BS myth.

Take an Accord with a turbo h22 with an F22 tranny and slicks and race an accord with an identical setup but with an h22a tranny and the h22a tranny'd accord wins everytime

"Hold boost longer" What the hell does that even mean?

F trannies dont like high rpm shifting because the syncro's and shift forks werent designed for it, the power handling capacity of the F vs. H tranny is similiar.

i bought the frankeinstein for 1 reason, I had the block, h23a non-vtec head and h22 vtec head with intake, blablabla, for 1000$ can, about 700$ us for evreything, the reason why it was so low price was that it was in pieces, and the guy needed to sale evrything he can cause he wanted a new car. so i have a frankeinstein engine for half the price of a engine plus some things that I can sale.

btw i'm doing all the internals, i'm beggining by sleeving the block with a 3mm oversize, forged piston, forged crank,... i'm doing evrything on the engine that will make it a completly new engine exept the block the head and some other parts, i want to put around 10-15K$ or more on it.

the thing is that I love pretty much top speed, but with a 5speed tranny i'm limited in acceleration or top speed, so that's why I asked about 6speed tranny. I know that Quaife make 6speed transmission, but will it fit on my engine??

well seeing as prodrive makes a replacement 4.7 FD for the h22, im sure someone can make a longer one. http://www.housemanautosport.com in canada makes custom FD.

Just a little OT, but are you on CAQ, and don't you have a black coupe or something?

Now, true the TSX tranny, because of its 6th gear has a longer gear than an H22 tranny, but it is still shorter than an F22 tranny. So, assuming that you want all that top speed for track purposes (huh?), you'd be better off with an F22 tranny, or an H23 tranny with a longer final drive (don't know if that is possible).

It sure looks like you're gonna build a beautiful engine there. More power to you if you succeed, pal.

The Qaife 6 speed sequential is worth like 15 gran cdn, so it's up to you I guess

ouais, le meme gars que sur le CAQ

so you mean that the 6th gear of the tsx is shorter than the f22 5th gear?

20psi on a honda motor is quite a feat, not exactly a streetable setup in most cases....I hope you have a lot of money and some good shops in your area *smiles*. But as to the original question, no, the TSX 6 speed won't fit.
