Default Recently changed timing belt....Makes a whining noise....

I went to my local car shop and had them do a timing belt change on my car. Ever since then every time I drive the car by either revving it up or shifting at high rpms it makes this whining noise almost like a superchager. My best guess is that the belts are probably too tight. Someone else told me that its possible that the alternator is going out. I already went back to them once and they said that its perfectly normal. Honestly I think they did a half *** job because the car is loud even at idle. I can tell them to fix it but they keep saying there no problem when I know there really is. What do you guys think?

I'd guess the counterbalance belt is too tight

Which belt is that? Couldnt it be any of the belts? I had them all replaced at once.....

+2 on timing belt, remove accessory belt(s) to diagnose alternator possibilty.

hey my car, 91 accord ex, makes a similar noise although I would describe it more as a remote control car whine. Now I dont hear it because my exhaust has broken just after the resonator and its held up by a chain of hose clamps. It sets off car alarms when I drive into parking lots now lol. Anyway assuming this is a too tight balance belt does this mean I may have a limited lifespan on the car or is it a minor problem?

what's the process of adjusting this?? I had a firsetone guy tell me the only way to fix it would be to just go ahead and tear everything down and put a new one on while they were at it. this being ridiculous since i just paid 200 dollars to have it done about 15k miles ago. Said it would be about 500 "but the new timing belt is the cheap part.." Is there any way of adjusting this???

Your belt should be manually adjusted for its tension, I dont remember any Honda hydraulic tensioners lately, it will require some disassembly of the timing covers and other items patially covering these timing covers then just some untweeking of the overtightened belt via the tensioner pulley and put it all back together. A novice with a Haynes manual can do it in a few hours no problem as long as the crank bolt comes out and you have already borrowed needed tools from Autozone.

Still recommend accessory belts are removed and see if noise is still there.
