How do I get this door lock cylinder out!
Anyone know how to remove the door lock cylinder from the drivers side door handle of an 87 Accord? Getting the handle off the car wasn't a problem but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get the cylinder out of the handle. I removed the chrome ring where the key goes in and the big plastic clip that connects to the rod in the door is off the cylinder. I read somewhere that two fingers on the lock secure it to the handle. So I tried sticking a couple of screwdrivers through the two small holes in the handle and pushing on what might be fingers and shoving the cylinder out the rear but it won't budge. Any suggestions before I give up and call a locksmith?

Followup - after wrestling with it for an hour with no luck, a guy at the parts store down the street got it out in 5 minutes. I had been going about it the right way by inserting a screwdriver (a punch might work better) through the two small holes in the door handle and pushing down the metal fingers on the sides of the cylinder. Sounds simple but it was wedged in there tight and took a fair amount of pushing and prying to get it loose.
