Clicking Noise - Pushing on brake in park
I have a 94 accord ex canadian lx american auto, ive just noticed this noise the other day... while my car is in park and i push on the brake i get a clicking noise everytime i push on the brake!! only in park though. The clicking noise comes from under where the cup holders are in these cars, well thats where it sounds like its comming from anyways!!
if anyone knows why i'm getting a clicking noise, please let me know!!
thanks a lot

Re: Clicking Noise - Pushing on brake in park (accord0494)
uh yeah... what you are hearing is the lock mechanism unlocking the shifter so you can put the car in gear. you have to apply the brake to get the car out of park. its a safety feature and is completely normal.

How is this normal when it's never made this sound before? I understand that there is a safety so you can't take it out of drive unless your foot is on the brake but why would it all of a sudden start making this noise when it's never done it before? I've put 242000 miles on it without this sound so I am EXTREMELY confused
