Default Check engine 1457 after gas tank replacement

2000 Honda Accord LX 2.3 engine
The gas tank was changed and a day or two after the check engine light came on with code 1457. I reset it and
it came back on after a day or two. Brought the car back to the mechanic. He checked the lines around the
canister and valve and thought one loose. A day or two later the light came on again.
He figured the valve on the canister was bad and replaced that. I tested the old one and it was good. The light
came back on after a day or two.

Since it the light came on right after the gas tank replacement I thought something done or not done during the
replacement may be the cause. Some reading suggested the fuel tank pressure sensor. Does the gas tank
have to be pulled for that?

Any suggestions about what could be wrong?

It could be the gas cap. That has not been replaced. I don't know how to test that. If anyone knows please post that.
I have read a bunch of posts on possible causes of 1457 but think the issue is related to the tank replacement.
