92 Accord EX Trans Solenoids and TCU
I have the common problem of the D4 issues and not shifting into all gears as it should. correctly. I pulled the upper solenoid set and checked them. One has a strong click but the other one clicks but is not very audible but I can see the diaphragm move. Should these have a load click when actuated to be considered good?
Also, on the TCU board which capacitors should be inspected for leakage? The two resistors look fine.
Thx

Pull the two wire blue connector from the passenger side kick panel down, jumper it with a tool or paperclip, turn ignition to ON, look for any CEL or D4 blinks for codes. If your CEL or D4 lamp do not work, you will need to replace these lamps before further diagnostics.
Pull the TCU out and look in the corner of the board, there are a couple of resistors and a capacitor that can leak and burn out. Pretty obvious if they are damaged.
