1999 Honda Accord Ex v6! Please help!!!!
Hi, I have a 99 honda accord ex v6 automatic. I wanted to know what someone thought about some codes my car is throwing.
P0108- I know map sensor is one of a few things for this but I got new one installed.
P1457- some type of evap control I close gas with 3 clicks not sure what else to do.
P1738- I know it could be either wiring or clutch pressure switch 2 but don't know what to buy/do?
I'm not a mechanic, I do know some things.
Also I feel like this has to do with the p1738 code to but here it is. When I stop the car at stop light/sign or whatever it may be, and then begin to accelerate you can tell it will begin to shift at 2rpm's but it will stick until a little after 3rpm's. It is not a violent jerk but you can see it definitely on the gauge and feel it slightly. There has been a couple times it did it a little harsher but other then that gear it get stuck in it drives so smooth shifts fine reverses, it is a very awesome car and I love to get it fixed up. I do know of the tranmission problems with the few other years and model cars with same tranmission but it doesn't seem to be that bad. So if anybody could help me out and give me a few suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. -Brandon

For the p0108 code disconnect the map sensor, turn the ignition on and test for voltage on all of the pins. You should get around 5v on one of them. Also, did you install an oring when you installed the new map sensor into the throttle body ?
For the p1457 code this is normally because someone has installed an aftermarket gas cap. If that gas cap is not a Honda gas cap, that is likely the issue.

For the map sensor i put the new map sensor on with the old o-ring but that would make a difference? I still have the new o-ring and the old map sensor in the box cause I kept it just in case. But I will definitely try to get the voltage and then put the new o-ring the map sensor came with on there. Thank you!!
And for the gas cap it is a honda gas cap.

Would you know anything about that shifting part? It's like I said it isn't bad at all so I don't think it's transmission. Cause all other gear work. It's just that one gear that seems a little delayed

Auto trannies unfortunately are not my specialty. If it were me i would take it to a smog shop and see if they can run the evap test to see if there is a leak. They might be able to test your gas cap.
I would use a new map sensor oring. It could be leaking.

Now that I think of it. I went to get gas and forgot to put the gas cap on and it it was on my trunk, I went to drive off and heard it go flying so maybe I will check it out and see if looks messed up. I didn't think it would break or mess it up but it did throw the code for evap after that happened cause originally it was just the code for clutch pressure and map sensor. So in a way thank you for reminding me. Lol! But yea if a new gas cap doesn't work guess ill have to head to get the smog test done.

P1738 is pressure solenoid. It may just be the switch or the wiring to the switch.
#14 in the picture, yes there are two, one is a pressure switch for 3rd gear, which is the same device. Two per car.
Look for leaks damage to the wiring and connector.
