I have had this problem for a couple of years, but wasn't happening all the time. My honda use to stall once in a blue moon when I would take off. Right when I hit the gas it seems to be starved of fuel and either stall or hesitate and then stall. Turn it on and started right up no problem and the issues would not return. Now the car stalls when I am stopped at a light (not every time but several times while going somewhere) or when I have the car in neutral and the rpms go down below 1k rpm. Is this a timing issue??? or could it be the fuel filter? Honda says that the fuel filter is not servicable. I just changed the plugs/wires and cap on this car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BTW...It's a 99 accord ex sedan with auto trans and 75k miles. 4 cylinder

Do you have the manual for your accord? Check at what mileage you are supposed to change the fuel filter.
But.. for some reason.... sounds like could be something other than fuel filter..(just guessing)

There is no recomended Fuel Filter Change in the manual and the dealer says it's not servicable. The check engine light also came on and shows the following codes:

P0700
Trans Control System Malfunction

P1768


P1773.

I am still searching on the web to get some answers to these codes.

Those are transmission trouble codes-

P1768 A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve A

P1773 A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve B

There are a couple of guys here who probably know exactly what this is..be patient

Sounds like perhaps an easy fix?!?! (crossing fingers for you)

That is what I figured...I saw a post in another forum about the same codes but it ended up being the ECM going bad..So I hope it isn't it. Thanks!

If I sum up the troubleshooting guide in the manual, it's either:

A. Replace solenoid valve

B. Repair wiring

C. Replace PCM

So...makes you want a manual transmission, huh?

Did the current issue of stalling become more apparent after you worked on the car?

I did the tune up about 3 months ago and the check engine light and the stalling became more regular two weeks ago. I would hope changing plugs/wires and cap/rotor would not cause this much havoc.
