1991 Accord vibration at idle
Hi Guy's! Newbie here!! I have a problem with a 1991 Accord. I have a noticeable vibration at idle, mainly in reverse. I have read the posts for checking idle speed and the rear motor mount. I have vacuum to the rear mount and with a mirror I can see the actuator move when I hook the hose to it. I have checked the base engine, the idle speed is 750 rpm, and all the motor mounts. I have even replaced the rear mount as a last resort. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

It will become immediately obvious if you've a rear Trans Mount failure. As I mention in my signature, things get close to violent; the steering wheel often vibrates as much as 1/2". The front bumper on my wife's '89 LXi actually broke loose from it.
It does get worst in reverse.

if all the motor mounts are ok,and you used honda mounts ?? especially the rear ?? ,, you might have a misadjusted frt motor mount.......loosen the top bolt on frt mount 17mm.. start car, have someone put foot on brake and put car in drive, tighten upper bolt,,,see if it helps, if not,, reloosen bolt, this time leave car in park and tighten it see if it is any better ,,,,,,,,,try and post results

Re: 1991 Accord vibration at idle (fever502)
I tried adjusting all the mounts. I then double checked the idle rpm with a known good tach. The tach in the car is off 150 rpm. After adjusting the idle the car no longer shakes. Thanks for the help!
