Re: DB Squad.....for the Teggers with 2 extra doors
I plan to try starting my teg after being dormant for over 2 years now. Tips for getting her started back up safely? All new fluids, been on a battery tender forever, while sitting i rotated the crankshaft manually here and there to keep that moving, and i also sprayed a chemical down the spark plug tubes prior to sitting. I can't recall the name of the product off the top of my head, but it wasnt just wd-40 or something like that.

I'd also unplug the main relay and crank it over for about 5 seconds (repeat that several times, waiting a minute or so between crankings to avoid overheating the starter) to make sure everything is covered in oil before it fires. Look closely at the tires too, they may not be safe after sitting for 2 years. The brakes will probably sound terrible the first few times you hit them until the corrosion is cleaned off. Other than all that, just drive it gently for at least a few miles before pushing it.

Did you put anything in the gas tank to preserve the gas? If not, it won't be good after two years. I doubt the engine will run. The fuel pump may be bad and the tank may need to be removed and cleaned out.

looks good, how much did you have taken out to access the rack? i may need to re-access mine again. the first time i did it, there was nothing bolted on the car so it was quite easy lol

I didn't have to remove anything. FSM shows you how to remove it w/o removing the subframe. Not that hard but it will be a mess though

Time consuming though, The only hard struggle I had was with the link between the rack and the steering column. Try not to strip the screws.

I gotta finish up on the hoses on the power steering return, flush it, and schedule a delivery to the alignment shop. Hopefully those hoses come in tomorrow. I button up the rear with new brakes last night. Exhaust got all new gaskets as well and an o2 sensor. what else....OH...alarm is on the way.
Maybe I'll do the alarm today..

The integra had tsx projector installed. In order to pass inspection I had to remove the HID setup and install d2s LED's. I bought it off of Amazon just to swap in to past inspection in Tx. I'll be re-installing the s2k ballast and osram bulbs today since I'm leaving tonight or early AM.

Re: DB Squad.....for the Teggers with 2 extra doors
so, i performed a cold compression test and leak down test on my car tonight to hopefully try to point out where i have messed things up along the rebuild. the bastard adapter piece for the leakdown test threaded into the spark plug chamber tighter than the rest of the tester, so it's still in there. how the hell do i get that thing out?

pb blaster or some kroil. Don't drench it though cuz I'm unsure if it can be burnt off.

Re: DB Squad.....for the Teggers with 2 extra doors
i'm hoping to get the cams, cam caps, etc.. back in the car tomorrow night so i can do another valve adjustment. Then HOPEFULLY saturday the car will start up again and not have the same issues as before. If it runs as it should, its all easy stuff to finish up this car. If it runs like it did before, i got some more trouble shooting to do...

Re: DB Squad.....for the Teggers with 2 extra doors
nah, i tore back into the head to "retrace" my steps when i replaced the lost motion assemblies to see if i did something stupid or missed a step. I got my car to fire up a couple weeks ago and it ran terribly and then went to a no start condition. When it ran, it sounded very odd. Replacing those LMAs was the most major maintenance thing i did in my rebuild so i went back through but didnt notice anything that looked out of place or wrong. I guess i'll see what happens this weekend.
