AMSOIL SYNTHETIC best oil out there scientificly proven. check out amsoil.com for comparison on all other top name synthetics.

use heavy oil for turbo such as 20-50. it lubes center cartridge better, to reduce heat and friction.

I'm currently using castrol dino 5w30 while breaking in my motor, I'll be switching back to castrol synthetic in a few hundred more miles. I use a 5W oil because Hondas run relatively tight clearances, plus since your cams don't have bearings...it's best to have oil flow to the head as quickly as possible during a cold start.

I don't know about using heavy 20w-50 oil because honda recoments 10w-30 for there engines, but for the turbo I don't know what oil is best(heavy or not heavy).

Any body????

I use what's on my oil cap, 5W-30 Castrol GTX.

Short intervals between oil changes though.

Mobil-1 10w30 for the winter ,and 10w40 summer. I switch to royal purple for 2 oil changes, but it does not clean the motor as well as mobil 1. and I tried that synchro max **** in my transmision and it destroyed my synchros the same day it was used. so I hate royal purple now. mobil 1 all the way

As said earlier, the only one that is test proven to be better (less scuffing under load/heat) is Amsoil synthetic. I use Series 2000 20w-50w racing oil. You can find cheaper oil, but not better.

I was using some cheap synthetic for my motor until it kept gunking up in the turbo. Now I switched to Mobil 1 10W-30...hey if its good enough for the $50,000+ corvette, cadillacs, and vipers its good enough for me

Don't throw out what this guy is saying. I'm doing some research on this stuff right now and waiting for some tests to get back to me. Follow that link for the Leading Edge Oil, there are 6 videos in the product testing section, they have charts, also under dyno testing - numerous dyno charts for the people that like them and also under dyno testing a vid showing people dynoing and changing oil then making more power. Its not about power but more about protection but isn't having both the way to go?

RP took away trans grind for me in my civic hatch when I had it. I've been running the RP oil in my sti since 11,000 and it is fine. Once I get this test back I will post it up.

How do you know the engine isn't cleaned as well? What do you mean by this and what test did you do to prove this?
