where can i get a thread chaser that is long enough for head threads on the block for a b series
m11.5 x 1.5 is the size i believe

a 3/8" (i believe) 12point socket will fit over the end so you can attach an extension.

Some of us around here are preferential to the information found in one sub-forum compared to the next, and we put more "faith" in the advice given by the regulars of that area. If I had a boosted EG, I would come here for mechanical issues or speciality tools before I went to the EG/EK forum.

after thinking about it
is the tapper long enough to fit down the hole and still put a socket on it?
i tried placing a 3/8 socket over the hole but its too big

If you have problems with the studs not fitting tight, as I have seen many times after a repair job, I would look into Time-Serts, they make a head repair kit for the B series-D-Series motors, comes with all the tools needed, and I have used these threaded sleeves on 1000HP setups with NO lift from the head. I hear people using heli-coil, but I wouldnt use them on a head stud hole, they are to weak.. This may help it may not... :D

3 or 4 of the threads are stripped already.. one broke within 10lb of tq , the other two broke going into 50lb
i got a timesert kit coming to me sometime next week to fix them
but i want to chase the thread on the other ones to make sure they are perfect

Take an OEM head bolt, and make cuts along the threads with a cut off wheel in a Dremel. You want to make 4 cuts perpendicular to the threads, and the full length of the threads, so it kinda looks like a tap. I should take some pictures of what I mean. If I get the chance, I'll do that tomorrow morning.
