Hey bud, have you thought about pie cuts?

I am running open down pipe and open wastegate dump tube right infront of left front tire behind bumper. it is loud and you can hear the turbo spool like crazy all the time but I have yet to be pulled over just because of it.

well I mean you do live in Arkansas :p

I had to drive to Ozark to do something with my grandparents will and their oil and gas wells out there... cops didn't really care how fast people drove, I went bombing down gravel backroads while my parents handled court junk.

I built my bumper exit exhaust using the downpipe that came with my kit. 1 cut and a pipe expander to slide the pipes together. Then a step up using pie cuts to raise the exit above the lip. Took me about 2 hours of messing with it and I welded it with a cheap harbor freight 110v welder.

Really the only hard part was moving the radiator over(would of cleared but I'm runing a dual core radiator and the bottom of my core support is pushed back) and making the beauty ring.

Just wanted to let u know. I have a 420whp turbo coupe with bumper exit. It sounds great at full throttle but other than that it stinks and chicks don't wana smell like fuel so I built a hatch hoping for 375whp and definitely has full straight pipe rear exit and sounds absolutely great. Just go rear exit cuz the bumper exit will be cool for about a week then you'll regret it. Seriously

i have a bumper exit as well so to say. mine is not fully extended to the corner of the bumper. it stops right under the drivers frame rail about a good 6 to 7 inches from the bumper. so with that being said, yes it can be loud. but i think with some of the space it kind of muffles the sound a bit. my only issue is the fumes and the oily/gassy smell it puts offf. other than that, its not entirely annoying.

Not afraid of what would happen if you had a failure that would result in dumping oil directly in front of your tire?

no not really due to the angle the pipe sits at(45 degree almost) and also knowing my turbo does not throw oil like that. it was in reference to the SMELL, not the physical part.

most don't until they do 😃. My comment said IF there was a failure. That would be BAD 😁

Do you happen to have any photos to share?

bumper exit exhaust is not as loud as you'd think. this customer has not been pulled over yet for it, and it is not near as loud as I thought it would be. we did this turbo setup and made the ramhorn for drivers side exit with dump. no problems what so ever with reversion on the o2 sensor either.

Yeah, he's got a lot more to do on the car, his budget shut down the injectors we were gonna do and some other things, like intercooler. towards the end we had to make do with some things that he had previously. We maxed out the dsm injectors at 17lbs. I did run more fuel pressure to limp them along though. did 285whp, and 210tq on our Mustang dyno, which a local dynojet reads 18% higher than our Mustang. We have the second stage of this build coming when he gets injectors, and a few other things. then we'll see what we can really squeeze outta it on pump gas.

Thank you! Yeah, I work at a small shop. I build the engines, do the fab work, and tune the cars. Haha, it keeps me busy I guess.... Most of our bigger spending clients are not from our area.

We made the turbo manifold so we would have plenty of room to face it for a driver's side exit. If I get a chance I'll take a closer pic of the compressor in relation to the block, if that's why you were asking about the cover, should have room for either cover. It's not a conventional d series ramhorn.
