Yeah that's what I'm saying too much variation in idle afr in open loop all the time. It probably doesn't hurt anything, but it just annoys me lol. To use your wideband for closed loop select "closed loop- wb input (voltage target), set target voltage to ~2.5, you can mess with the voltage to get the afr you want. Higher voltage equals leaner, lower is richer. Max map for closed loop should be ~700 mbar or equivalent to whatever units your map uses. Since the wideband has bigger voltage swings then the factory narrow band you want to adjust your min max short term adjustments to about +10 & -10%. Closed loop will make the afr jump from slightly rich to slightly lean, this is how it operates from the factory. If you get huge swings in afr either your short term fuel trims are too big, or your ground for the wb to ecu isn't very good. You could also just enable closed loop for idle only, by setting max engine speed to ~1500rpm. Usually you don't need to mess with any other settings I didn't mention, default should be fine. Honestly the closed loop operation in these 20+ year old 8 bit ecus is not the greatest, but they get the job done. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have more questions.

Forgot to mention you need to select your wb input source under "closed loop advanced", typically you wire your wb to d10 eld, but select whatever one you use.

thanks for the info, I already have my advanced tab set up for AFR data logging. Just need to look up voltage specs for my AEM wideband and Ill give it a try

Nice. Yeah start with 2.5 volt target and see how that works for you.

according to the AEM specs
2.5v = 13.25 AFR
3.1v= 14.7 AFR

still recomend 2.5v?

Got it. Yeah then use the voltage that correlates with your target afr.

0.18 - 0.20 but it's not the spark plugs or the gap.
it doesn't matter if i'm in 14psi or in 20psi.
i run bkr7's.

p.s.
can you hear it on the video?

Unfortunately, after watching and listening many times, even with quality headphones, I can't hear it.

you got me with the quality headphones

anyway, really, in the start of the video you hear the stutter. after that you hear it when it's normal.
just try to hear the VTEC, you will hear the difference..

all the pulls are in the same boost about 18psi..

Nope. those won't cause that. If they were even remotely an issue, you'd never have the engine run at all.

For most Rochester-Lucas styled injectors, (like your Precision 1000cc) that's just the pintle moving. Normal.

update** We found the problem,
we did a compression test (this is the second time) and one of the cylinders showed 40 and the others where 170.
we did chen it before and it was fine..

any way, the machine shop found 4 EX valve are bent.
and maybe 2 Intake valve that not looking so good.

i orderd a full set of new ferrea 6000.
will update when installed...

Those MSD distributors never were that good, but with an external coil, it should be ok. Not sure what to tell you at this point. You at least found the bent valves. Get a fresh set of plugs, head back to the tuner and returne completely. After that, you've got me stumped. Never had anything like that before to this extent. I'm sorry I can't be of more assistance.

What are the conditions needed for the EMS to change to a VTEC profile? My understanding is that the AEM EMS has different means of choosing when to activate variable valve control (based off of TPS/RPM/MAP). Perhaps there's a slight mismatch in the conditionals that's causing that stutter.
