Default 300whp on the street? how is it?

Im getting closer to finishing my vitara build, probably be finished in another week or so. When I started this project my goal was 300whp.

For those of you who DD your turbo car, is 300whp too much for the street?

Thanks guys

I think 250-300 is just about right myself, on my car I as long as I had traction in 3rd gear it was a good dd.

Gear dependent boost in your friend on the street, nothing is too much when you can dial it out.

300+ hp is just fine for the street, even better with some nice drag radials.

Driving on the street and having a daily driver are two different things...

I daily drove a 400+ hp dc2 for 12k miles.. Built gsr 16-19psi

I used it on campus as a service car for an electronics company

I had te37s with nitto 555rs

You should see the line of students and teachers jump off the sidewalk to the grass when you do a 2nd gear clutch drop, stick it out, eat the limiter to gorilla shift 3rd haha

I make 300whp on my DD torque monster of a D16Y8 lol. Im running 215 rt 615 in the front and traction bars. Its fun i love it. Any more would just be nuking the tires constantly LOL.

You will love it.

Nope sure dont, im running s300 have boost by gear as well as rpm. Car hooks 3rd and 4th. Car has 11psi wastegate spring and it barely hooks 3rd, 4th is all 19psi and it dead hooks. Its by far the nastiest street car ive ever driven...

I wish I was you. As far as I know Crome doesn't offer boost by gear.

I DD'd my built Ls setup for a year and a half at 373whp on pump gas but never had a boost solenoid but the car was A BLAST to drive. Then I did a gsr head and made 450whp and that was by far the most fun cuz the top end was awesome! Ill be over 500 on my next setup on the street but i have a boost solenoid now!

Everyone is going to have there own idea on what makes a good dd. Myself I think a dd needs to be driven in all weather conditions, so thats gona limit your tire choices. When I did dd my car I liked to beat on it from light to light so traction in 3rd gear was also important to me. Again everyones setup is not gona work the same, some will have better suspension, boost by gear, lsd , better tires, traction bars and so on.

329-328 dd for sure is fun. try to pass a car thats shifting down and you boil ur tires and the look on there face as your smokin em *** you pass is great.

Boost by gear is great for allowing useable hp. Hondata 300 works well. The MT drag streets hold better for me than the BFGs did. 535/430wtq

how do you hook your car with a 400hp range car?? i cant hook at all at that range, even with slick on the street it dont hook. i have more fun with my brother d16 turbo dyno around 250hp.
