Re: eCtune, new tuning software, looks awesome, apparently will kick Crome's *** (dis
HI guys... I'm from Spain and don't have any tuner here...
The question is ...
I want to buy some Pro license of crome or ectune and learn about tuning.. but cause the poor tuning comunity I have here and the spend about all hardware (WB, emulator, burner, chipping, etc) i decide to buy sharing it with a friend to tune our cars...and the possibility to tune future cars of rest our friends and share the costs.
SO..Is possible in some way to burn mappings onto diferents ecus and no need to take the emulator on the car with ectune?? Is the most important thing that I see on Crome.
The problem is I see ectune is capable of anti-lag system and other goodyes and is more interesting than crome.
I don't have it clear...

if you're going to tune and share with others, you will have to purchase the tuner version. the pro version will lock the emulator to one ecu and you cannot burn a chip for others. contact calvin to inquire about the tuner version. email info@ectune.com

I should know not to ask the eCtune guys any sales questions. I've already learned from the past that they're a bunch of ******** over there. Come to think of it, sale or no sale, I'd rather burn my money than give it to those ******.

Here has been my experience.
Have owned Crome Pro and Ostrich v1 for 4-5 years. Crome doesn't work bad but it doesn't work great either. Crome has great support through PGMFI, but horrible support from the developer. Bought AEM and it was Way over my head and never got it right sold it and went back to Crome. About a month ago I sold my tuning laptop and hardware and bought a new laptop and a demon. I updated crome to v1.5.5 to work with demon, no go. Looked through the boards to find anyone who had suckles with crome pro and demon but found none. So I was left with the option to go with Neptune or eCtune, looking over the features and the layout I decided to try eCtune as it included all of the features i have been interested in and the layout was what i was more familiar with. So far I have been quite happy with what eCtune has offered me, especially the idle quality compared to crome. The developers do tend to be a bit short with their answers and very intolerant of misuse of the software, but in the end your getting what you paid for. I am a happy customer, would like the chance to upgrade to the tuner version to get some others on board but today I am happy with what I have gotten from eCtune.

On April 18th I paid $265 for ectune, a Hulog and the PWM conversion parts kit.
I got the program license after a few days and that was fine...I asked where the Hulog was after a couple weeks and was told that my order slipped through the cracks and would be filled right away. I got the Hulog a week later...I still haven't got the PWM parts. Granted, I have only politely contacted calvin and the ectune "store" and nate about this six or seven times in total. We all need reminders right? I just want what I paid for.
So yeah it's a cheap program and it works great. Good luck if you try to buy hard parts through those guys.
