Default what hubs for ITR if i plan to run 13inch wheels? Can civic hubs fit?

hi guys,

I want to run some 13inch wheels on the front for drag but the brakes and hubs are too big. Can i use civic 4 x100 hubs? Will they fit? Or are there other alternatives?

Just buy a whole civic 4x100 spindle with hup. Switch on the whole spindle for drag weekends

if you have domestic itr stuff, yes civic 4 x 100mm spindles will work, but if you are like me and have 5 x 114.3mm jdm spindles, you need to run 15"s. because the axles are bigger and wont fit the civic spindles.

did you get this to work on an usdm spindle or a jdm spindle? i tried everything to get it to work on a jdm spindle like the setup you have, and tried what beanburrito had said also, and both came up short.

would it not be easier to redrill LS/GSR rotors?

any answer here???

I bought some bogart 13x8 5 lug wheels that were on an Eclipse GST.
They are on there way and I have no idea it will clear my brakes. Any insight of what you guys have done or suggest will be helpful. Thanks guys.

Can you be so kind to let us know if these work or not. I would like to run 13" on my ITR as well and Im sure most of us would. thanks.

unless you run zero back space and a 1/2 spacer, they will not clear the stock ITR rotors. you can get them to work with the gsr/ls calipers, but you need to do whatever you need to do to make the rotor fit the hub, then make the calipers fit the rotors........i have exhausted every option, and am ditching my 5 lug, and my bogarts. they are for sale. pm me if interested. formal thread coming.

4 lug and 13's are for next season. it isnt worth the agro.

I have USDM 5-lug conversion with 32MM axles...

I am just swapping the spindle on race days with Civic DX spindles. The key is to run the 32mm axle, as opposed to a 36mm

The Following measurements were taken at Abacus Racing and Machine with their equipment. I recorded the measurements as accurately as I could with the tooling I had.
LS Brakes:Brembo Blanks Part #25331
ITR Brakes: Brembo Blanks Part #25464

LS/GSR Brakes are:
-.827" thick on your actual braking surface.
---The inside part of the disc measured .270"
---The outside part of the disc measured .293
---the void between the 2 parts measured .264
-The Outer diameter of the entire rotor measured 10.297" (accepted value is 10.3")
-The Backside inner rotor measured 6.273"
-The Hub Inner Diameter is 2.525"
-The Hub Outer Diameter is 5.980"
-The total weight (on a .05lb scale) was 11.10lbs
-The Brake Pads weighed 3.50lbs
-total weight of pads and rotors is 25.70lbs

ITR Brakes are:
-.909" thick on your actual braking surface.
---The inside part of the disc measured .274"
---The outside part of the disc measured .278
---the void between the 2 parts measured .357
-The Outer diameter of the entire rotor measured 11.097" (accepted value is 11.1")
-The Backside inner rotor measured 6.746"
-The Hub Inner Diameter is 2.761"
-The Hub Outer Diameter is 6.212"
-The total weight (on a .05lb scale) was 13.05lbs
-The Brake Pads weighed 4.20lbs
-total weight of pads and rotors is 30.30lbs

You'll notice the ITR rotor is .800" larger in diameter than the LS/GSR rotor. If you attempt to drill out the 4x100 bolt pattern to a 5x114.3, you will overlap at least one hole and will have a smaller hub centering ring on your rotor. Therefore using a LS/GSR redrilled rotor will not work on an ITR Hub.

What you have to do is to cut the ITR rotor down to a LS/GSR diameter of 10.297" You do this by taking it to your local machine shop and tell them "need the outer diameter of this brake rotor machined down from a size of 11.1" to 10.3" I do not know how much this would run, I would say around $70-140.

This also brings the weight down from 13.05lbs to 11.05 and 11.10lbs for my 2 rotors. I believe the extra .05lbs is from the differing final measurements of 10.297" and 10.301" respectively.

Doing this now enables you to use a stock LS/GSR Brake setup with an ITR Hub. I plan on finishing my conversion this week before NOPI Ohio. any questions? feel free to ask.

And and update:

Ok, an update on my project. First. You can do this with no problems. Mine is completely assembled and about to go on the car tonight. With that said, a few adjustments need to be made.
1) Because of the increased overall thickness of the ITR disc, when you go to attach the caliper mounting bracket to the knuckle, the outside part pulls into and hits the brake disc. You need to space it apart. I used a washer to do this(i forget the thickness, but i will measure tomorrow for you.), and place it between the caliper mounting bracket and the knuckle. This pushes the caliper outwards .xxx" (to be measured soon).

2) Due to the thicker rotor, I was not able to use the anti squeel shims. However, I also rebuilt my entire front setup at this point. If you are using used pads and/or rotors, you might be able to get away with it. This also depends on what brand pads you get and if they are just as thick or not. Since I had a Drag application, I choose to leave them out.

3) Also, because I have a drag application, I decided to leave off the brake dust shield behind the hub. It SHOULD be able to be used with the new setup, i just cannot say for sure since I did not use it in my conversion.

I will post pictures up of the final product. I did not have time to picture document this whole process. If anyone else wants me to do this for them, i will charge you $50 plus materials for everything and provide pictures of every step.
