Default Tilton twin disc or Clutch Masters twin disc?

im in the market for a new clutch and was wondering what you guys think of these 2 clutches? or if there is anything else out there that i might want to look into? im leaning toward the Clutch Masters because of the completely rebuildable fly wheel. thanks for the info.

Exedy is very popular as well. Come to think of it I havent seen any negative comments thus far.

Competition Clutch also sells a twin disc setup.

If those were my 2 choices I would pick Tilton all the way. Well I would use Tilton anyways...great product.

If I had to choose the cluth over again I would go with excedy, or competition. The tilton was a pita to install. Too much modification to get it to work like it should have from the box.

I am running the tilton I have beat up on the thing for the last 5 years with over 800whp never had one problem. It's great to not have to worry about a part on your car. With the tilton I dont even think about the clutch. I have never run the CM so I cant say anything about it either way. I dont know why you would want/need to rebuild the fly wheel. I have had no problem with the fly wheel or installing the clutch. If you want to buy the tilton I can get one for you.

I ran a Clutch Masters FX600 last year, and burned through it in about 6 months. I was right at the limits of the FX600. Called them up, and they asked me to send it to them. They ended up replacing it, and upgrading it to the FX700 for a mininmal cost.

There customer service gets from me.

We use a Tilton and I must say I'm very happy with it. It is a great clutch and takes a serious beating. I would lean hard towards the Clutchmasters simply because they put a lot of money into sport compact drag racing. We need to put the money back into the companies that heavily support drag racing. When I buy another, it will be a CM.

im just preparing for the worst when i say that the flywheel is rebuildable. buying $150(estimated) flywheel insert is a lot cheaper than buying a $650 flywheel. im currently on a tilton right now and i have to say that i have had no problems with it at all. the reason im leaning toward the CM twin disc is because they can make me a custom flywheel for my application. just my 2 cents

Agree with this. They have been super helpful and I have run their stage 4 cluch in my car for over 3 years with out a single issue. I also have run their clutch in other cars with out any issues.

the exedy is a great option. No modifications to the bearing or any of that stuff.

I've seen exedy twin disc have stress cracks in between the pucks with not that many miles on it. I would go with a tilton clutch. thats what i'm using now
