ran my 95 hatch, thaughts
well yesterday i ran my hatch its a 95 vx with a gsr motor and tranny. the mods are basic just a short ram, blox intake mani, and 2.5 inch crushed bend exhaust. i took it to the track gutted from the back and minus the passenger seat. i had some 20x8x14 inch slicks and had the psi at around 10. i was really nervous as i had only ran at a track 2 times with my buddies teg gsr and that was over 2 years ago, so yeah i was kinda nervous. so i go do my burnout and line up to stage and the 2 top yellow lights come on and and by the time i knew it i hadnt even revved up the motor to 7 grand like iwas planning to so by the time the green light lit i was only at 5 grand and i dumped the clutch so it bogged to 4500 i was kinda pissed but still floored it and when i was in third gear the driver side slick felt weird like it was flat but still managed to finish. afterwards i pulled over and the slick was completly flat the tube popped. well i got my timeslip and here are the results. reaction time +.6069 60ft 1.9919 1/8 mile et 8.9122 1/8 mph 78.11 1/4 mile et 13.9681 1/4mph 98.63. my goal was a 13.6-13.7 . and did i mention i weigh 280 lbs. well thank god nothing bad happend to me because of the flat. thanks for any input.

I think your goal is attainable. You probably would've hit 13.6-13.7 if your slicks held up.

not bad times at all considering the circumstances. My advice, maybe two pounds more in the slicks and seat time. Once you drop your 60ft times you'll be mid 13's for sure

They had races on Saturday? How did I miss that I got the schedule rite here. Why did you only get 1 run in? Or was that just your best run of the night. You traps are the same as mine 98mph. 13.9 good job Jesse I'll be at the next one.

Re: (91' LS-VTEC)
Ill come to Renegade when I get my axle problem figured out Caesar. Yesterday on the first pass I broke BOTH AXLES. I did the usual burnout, stage, rev, dump, no movement. So of course I figured the worst and thought I blew my tranny. My car is spooled so even if I break 1 axle I can still drive it back to the pits. I didnt even move more than a couple inches. Got it back to the trailer, jacked it up, the passenger side I knew immediately what happened but when I spun the driver side tire the shaft didnt turn at all so I figured it was the outer cage. Anyways thats my story and Im off to a different brand of axles.
I will prolly come to Renegade on a Saturday because of the better track prep. I havent had luck at Renegade for a couple years on friday nights, even in the cool weather.

Pretty respectable time considering all the circumstances. I recently took my new project to the track here for the first time and was pretty dissapointed and my setup is similar to yours. Actually the track here is about 5500' above sea level and I dont know what the corrected altitude was last Friday but all I know is the track sucked bad. No matter how I launched on my street tires I couldnt get better than a 2.4 60' and Im not the worst driver nor am I new to drag racing. Anyways thats another story but a good run from your car non the less

update ran a 13.53 with a 1.825 60ft. i remember dustin telling me 2 years ago at renegade that 60ft was the most important part of drag racing. very true. IMO
