IMPORT FACE-OFF schedule and rule updates (Fontana and Woodburn)...
I think most everyone in the North West already knows about the Woodburn addition on September 25th.
Another change is that the Fontana IFO has been moved up from December 18 to November 20. We were given these date additions/changes after the previous promoter failed to confirm with the track. Please don't think we are trying to step on anyone's toes here. IFO is just filling the void where others have failed to do so.

I guess this means no BOTI this year.
If I remember correctly November 20th was their date.

That's going to change soon per track contract. Read the op, people. Same reason Woodburn was added on sept 25. Again, we were given these date additions/changes after the previous promoter failed to confirm with the track.

Re: IMPORT FACE-OFF schedule and rule updates (Fontana and Woodburn)...
Why the tire size change for FWD next year? Just forcing outlaw cars into a different class. Yes I understand outlaw cars are 8.8x and faster now on a regular basis, but most cars in FIP are supras and big big HP awd cars too that run 8.3x and lower. The classes seemed to be extremely well balanced this year and had plenty of turnout in both FWD and FIP! Just my opinions though, not here to start a big debate lol

Cliff, will there be min weights in FIP?
Of course turbos will be checked now that there is a rule right?

Too many tracks without scales. Not putting in a rule we can't enforce.
Turbos checked if protested.

There's no question that RWD and AWD cars have a huge advantage in drag racing.
To give them both a bigger tire and a bigger turbo with no weight restrictions just makes no sense.
If you're not going to enforce weight, give everyone the same turbo size at least.

Same turbo and tire sizes as any other Import event that combines rwd with fwd. actually, rwd has 80+ mm limit at other events, but you don't hear anyone complaining over there. Just look up the times and who usually wins.

If becomes an issue (FIP purpose built, lightened A/RWD drag cars) changes will be made. As of now, def none foreseen based on the type cars we see first hand racing at the events week after week all over the country.

IMO you should have a good solid rule set so that when racers do have purposed-built cars for your classes there will be good competition. Assuming that nobody will build a car for one of your classes makes me LOL
