Default Drmix's 96 CGP Integra GSR Turbo Drag Build Thread

I have always had a build thread on Team-Integra but figured I should start posting it up on here. If you want to read through the whole build it can be found here:
http://www.team-integra.net/forum/20...ld-thread.html

Quick rundown of the car:
When I purchased this car back in 2012 I didnt have any plans for it other than just fixing it up and having a clean teg to drive around.
First day I bought it:

6 Months or so after buying it

Summer 2013 - Bought a built high compression Type R motor. The car started getting built towards a road course setup (bigger brakes, sway bar, suspension, etc.)

That motor didnt last long at all. Once that motor was toast I had the option of rebuilding the motor with lower compression and boosting it.

Skip forward to January 2015-Motor was rebuilt, tuned and boosted on stock sleeves.

June 2015 - Brought the car to the drag strip to see what it would do. Didnt do very well but I had a blast anyways and was hooked! Ever since then I have been bringing the car to nearly every test and tune or event that our local track has.

2016 - This year I began turning the car into a drag car. Added a Whitfield roll cage, set of slicks, started ditching anything not necessary on the car, and also picked up a trailer/tow vehicle for going to the track.

My current setup (at least as much as I can think of lol)

I am not planning on upgrading too much to the motor for now. It is just a very simple and reliable setup and would like to see how fast I can take it. Ive been running the motor nearly the exact same way for a couple years with a ton off passes and havent broken anything yet.

I just purchased my first home a month ago so alot of my free time and money has been going towards that. I ditched my street suspension for a set of Blox Pro Drag Coilovers not too long ago and havent had a chance to run them at the track. For Black Friday this year I ordered a drag wing from CCC Racing since it was 30% off and just couldnt resist. They had a little issue shipping out my wing and got it mixed up with someone elses order so I didnt receive the correct part. I am hoping to get that cleared up soon. I love the look of my ITR spoiler but it isnt the best for a drag setup.

Other than the wing I plan on getting a set of skinnies before spring time. I am hoping that the skinnies along with the drag wing can help my pick up some speed at the top end of the track but we will see.

Its kind of a lot of information to post all at once but feel free to check out my original build. Let me know what you guys think.

Just randomly checked craigslist yesterday and found a brand new pair of M&H skinnies in the exact size I was planning on ordering so I picked them up.

Got the pair for $180 with tubes.

Do most people run tubes in their skinnies? I know with slicks some people do and some dont but what about skinnies?

Love seeing Integra's out there! I have been wanting to try my car without the spoiler too. Hopefully I can get back out there in Jan!

Congrats on the new house!

Thanks man. I was thinking about removing it last season just to see how much it helps but didn't have an opportunity since the weather cut the season short.

Thanks guys!

So my drag wing is on its way and should be delivered this Saturday as long as there are no delays with the shipment.

Im still undecided on which wheel to go with for my skinnies. I was think of just going cheap and getting the Traklite Launch wheels which go for $360 and weigh at a little less than 11lbs (which is about the same as the 15x8 rims im running now). Im liking the Traklites over Lenso because Traklite makes a 13x8 vs a 13x7.5 rim for the front that I will probably be switching to later on. Do you guys think the .5" will really make a difference or should I just go with the slightly lighter and cheaper Lenso setup?

Nice setup, I have a teg too making a little more power and lil less torque, ready to get to the track next spring, mines more of a street car though. best time of a 10.9 @ 130mph. Have you weighed your car recently? Also where did you find that gauge cluster setup for the clock on the dashboard I want one looks clean!!!!

I weighed it earlier this year i think it was 2620lbs with me in it if i remember correctly. 10.9 is really good! What cams are you running?

The clock pod is made by QuadPod. They havent made them in forever so if you can find one for sale get it.

Nice not a bad weight at all for a GSR with interior and Sunroof etc. I have ITR cams, motor is a 2.0L GSR, GSR stroke, 9.5:1 compression, skunk2 pro series intake manifold w/stock TB.
Full-Race Topmount w/t3 GT3076R .63 housing 4" downpipe into 3" exhaust.
made 455whp and 278trq on a low reading dyno on 16psi on 93 octane.

Thanks QuadPod I'm gonna look them up.

Sounds like a pretty solid setup.

So the drag wing arrived yesterday. Ill have to post up some pics when I get a chance. Not too sure when I will be able to install it. Still working on getting all settled into the new house and the garage is pretty packed and unorganized at the moment. Suppose to be selling our old washer and dryer today so that will free up some space at least

Went ahead and removed my ITR wing. Alot harder than I thought it would be. It took probably 10 minutes of prying at the wing to get it off.

I couldnt find any painters tape and I was by myself so I didnt want to risk scratching up the car to test fit the drag wing. Ill probably give that a shot tomorrow.

So I was checking my email and got an email from Ecliptech that their new Shift-P2 shift light setup had been released. Been waiting months for this so I went ahead and placed my order. Since I was on the waiting list for it to be released they were offering a 27% discount for a limited time.

ShiftP2 arrived! I was getting a little worried because of how small the box was in the bag. It wasnt much bigger than a CD case but it was all in there lol.

I think it was roughly $180 shipped. They are located in Australia so the conversion is a little weird.

You definitely want as wide of a rim as you can get. In fact, I'd recommend getting 9's or even 10's if at all possible. HUGE difference in traction, launch, and ET just by increasing rim width

True. Jeff Evens talks about it in this video. Pretty good info.

Thanks for the info guys! That video was pretty informative!

I might do some looking around and see what 13x9 rim options are out there for a decent price. Not really looking to drop $1000 on 2 rims at this point in time either.

Those look pretty good and are super cheap. Did you get their skinnies for the rear? The weight is a little more than i was hoping for at 13lbs. I have a couple options that im looking at now. Just Waiting to here back from the companies on how much they weight.

No did not get them. When I got the fronts they were out of stock. I will get them soon tho. They are a little heavier then the welds tho. I have a another car that has the welds. But they were cheap tho.
