will this amp work w/ my dual 2 ohm type r?
I have 1 dual 2 ohm 12" alpine typeR sub 500 watt peak rms.
And i have a rockford fosgate mono p325.1, 175 watt rms @ 4 ohm's and 325 watts rms @ 2 ohms.
Will this setup work? Im confused when it comes to ohms, bridged, channels, etc. Thanks in advance!

Yea it will work, But you will be way under powering the sub. You have the option of running the sub at a 4 ohm load. Both of your vc ran in series or a 1 ohm load. Both vc ran parellel. Your amp is not 1 ohm stable so you will be running your vc in series to produce a 4 ohm load. Your amp make about 175 watts at a 4 ohm load. So thats what your sub will be getting when you hook it up at a 4 ohm load. There is no way to run your speaker as a 2 ohm load. You could hook up 1 vc but the power handing would be reduce to half and it not reccommended buy most speaker company. Most of the time it voids the warrentty of the speaker.

alright ive been researching for an hour or two and now i think i got it. good lookin out! so this is what i got from everything:
i have a 500 watt rms speaker 2+2 ohm, so for an amp i should look for a 1 ohm handling amp w/ 600 watts @ 1 ohm. or a amp that allows for a 600 watt @ 4 ohms. am i getting this right? thanks again killer.

100% corrrect. Look at a mono amp. It will be more efficient and run cooler. But a 2 channel bridgeable amp will allways work.
