Default Stereo power lock problems

my 2000 civic, radio will not work nor will the power locks. The car has an aftermarket stereo as well as an after market starter/alarm. The problems started after the car sat for awhile leaving the battery to die, I jump started it and from then on I've had these problems. I have checked all the fuses and none are blown. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like an aftermarket alarm problem. Read through the alarm system manual to sort out the issue.

It was installed by a previous owner so I don't have any paper work on it. It's made by "Autostart" if that helps.

Google the company and model number to find a user's manual. The internet is a great resource.

Tried that there is nothing in the manual about trouble shooting any problems aside from problems with the transmitter.

Take your car to a shop and have them remove the alarm system and install new one. It would be difficult to advise you here without detailed information about the aftermarket alarm system and how it was installed.

I can move your thread to the Audio/Security forum, if you think you'd do better there.

Autostart is made by Directed Electronics.

Flip your remote over and there should be a model number.(Not the one next to FCC) I should be able to locate the actual install manual, from the sound of it you have the owner's manual.

I don't have the manual but I found it online and it really had no information to help.

I tried completely disconnecting the alarm and trying it but the stereo and locks still did not work.

Did you find the install manual or owner's manual? Both are different from each other.

Did you check all the fuses under the hood as well? I believe there is also a backup 7.5A fuse under the hood that protects the radio, locks, A/C and I believe a few other accessory controls.

That was the first thing I checked along with every single fuse in the car just to be sure and not one is blown.

I realize that's not a word but that's a direct quote from the service advisor.

Do you have a stock stereo and are the stock door locks?

If the stereo is aftermarket, pull it out and check the fuse on the back of the deck

The Autostart also has inline fuses, check them.

If the power door locks are stock, will they work with the stock door lock switch or key, [central locking]? 94

I do not have the stock stereo. I believe the power locks are stock but I could be wrong as it doesn't have a factory FOB. I'm probably going to pull the deck and check the fuse along with all the wiring I did not install it so it verywell may have been poorly done.

Oh I'm sure it's a word, I'm just laughing that a service tech would tell you that lol.

Do the locks work when you hit the up/down button on the door panel?

Sounds like the issue lies with the car, and not the aftermarket alarm/radio.

Your power lock switch looks like #1 and not #2 right?

Does your dome light work? If it does, when you put the switch in the middle, does it turn on/off with opening or closing the door?
