Speakers or subs? What kinda car do you have? What music do you listen to? What kind of sound are you looking for.? Answering those questions might help people when they are suggesting speakers for your car. I'm bored so I'll let you know what I have in my integra, and love it.
Components- Infiniti Kappa Perfects, w/ amp. (You need it to power the speakers because otherwise you really won't hear what the speakers are capable with without an amp on them.)
Rear Speakers - Pioneer Rev Series. These to really work great with an amp and are great "filler" speakers.
Subwoofer- Really depends on the sound you want, tight accurate bass, or trunk rattling loudness.
For accuracy I'd go with an Infiniti Sub, like the Kappa or Kappa Perfect.
For Loudness I'd check out the Kicker L5 Series, you could go with an L7 if you
want to but a 12'' L5 is 90% of a L7. So IMO it's more of a status thing.
The JL W7 is also a very nice sub, but VERY expensive.
Hope some of that is helpful.
