CRX Semi-ol'skool Stereo install (pix)
Car audio & installs aren't anywhere near as popular as they used to be back in the day, but I recently completed a stereo install in my CRX. Most of the equipment used is high endquality equipment and the amps, tweeters and subwoofer are semi-old skool from the mid 1990's.
If you're wondering how much I spent on this, including installation and wiring is close to $1000 Canadian.
FWIW, The Clarion DRZ9255 headunit alone was $1800 brand new back in 2004-2008, I got it for a steal locally.
Check it out.
- Clarion DRZ9255 headunit (4 way active capable)
- DLS MS6a 6.5" midbass
- old skool Kicker Nd25a tweeters
- old skool Zapco Studio 50 (tweeters)
- old skool Zapco Studio 100 (midbass)
- old skool Zapco Studio 100 (bridged for sub)
- old skool Kicker KS80 Substation
Some pics of my other components that were installed:

Ya, when I saw it for sale, I jumped on it right away ! Got it for a measily $40 ! This thing sounds amazing, not very powerful by any means, but in a small CRX hatch, it's perfect !
The sound quality coming from this is excellent, not like the shitty Kicker nowadays !
I wonder what happened to peoples kicker substations ? They very extremely popular in the mid 1990's.. I guess people just trashed them or the sub boxes are just rotting away in garages or moist basements.. LoL

I bought it used. The MSRP on it was $1800 Canadian ($1400 USD) when it came out.
It was manufactured between 2004 and 2008.

Just no demand for aftermarket car audio anymore !
Drivers are just happy with their stock car stereo sound, which is 10x better than systems in cars 20 years ago.
