Wow, what the Christ. I hope this guy's joking, after the Viper 5901 posts and having a few layers and such. You did get the 5901 installed right tekniq, or is the post a joke to get rid of the 'undefeatable' claims?

the guy who stole my car, was probably the same guy who attempted the first time, but this time he came better prepared and knew what he was doing

tekniq, sorry to hear you car was stolen, but let this be a lesson to you and all other Ravelco supporters.

Ravelco is not good. I am not going to reiterate all the points already made, but I just wanted to say that the argument that "No one has ever stolen a car with Ravelco so it obviously works" is completely flawed.

Just because you've never seen something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

What if I told you that elephants wear nail polish so that they can hide in strawberry patches? It must be true because no one has ever seen an elephant in a strawberry patch, right?

First of all. I admit I am a newbie. So take it easy on me.
With no experience on DIY installation as well as the time to do it.
I have NO choice but to hire to have auto security installed.

As I read this forum. It says that several layers of auto security is best.
To quote from another forum
"The best setup ....an alarm, complete with tilt sensors, hood sensors, glass break sensors, 2mile LCD pager and the Ravelco."

I was thinking on this layers of protection....

Ravelco

+
Auto-Bolt

+

????????

I understand that there are several brands of alarm available out there--Viper, Python, Astrostart, Clifford

Any comments on what cost-effective auto-protection to add OR............................

Kindly post which ULTIMATE COST-EFFECTIVE combination you will have, if you have to hire somebody to do it.
(Pls tell brand, model to be specific. .

You could make a Ravelco just as secure as any other kill. Its all in the amount of effort put forward to install that type of kill. No single kill is the complete solution. Anyone advertising that a single kill will do the job is full of it. A single kill means there is a single point to bypass that kill. The amount of effort required to make a Ravelco as secure as a multiple kill alarm system just isn't worth the effort. You might as well just get the multiple kill alarm system and skip the Ravelco all together.

Its not gonna help if the thief scouts your car ahead of time. He can just buy his own steering wheel.
