Scott's 09 FA5 Refresh.
Well, the itch has returned. I've had my 09 Civic Si for a little over two years now. Its remained completely stock apart from a shift ****. Over the two years of owning it, I've grown to love it and will probably hold onto it for awhile. This won't be anything like my last build, but more of a OEM+ / refresh / maintence type thing. Nothing major. I have some plans, mostly involving suspension stuff/brakes. This will be slow to update as I'm married now and she is in Pharmacy school so spending money on the car is not a priority.

The car so far as been repainted under Honda's paint recall so thats where I'll pick it up from.
After the car returned from the dealership they did a great job on the paint and color matching it, but an absolute awful job buffing it. I took it to MyspaceTom and he worked some magic on it.
Currently the only modification on the car is a Deft Motion weighted shift ****, seen here
probably soon to be switched out for a Spoon Duracon. I have put several thousand miles on the car since owning it, and have since changed the oil several times, flushed the transmission, changed the spark plugs and replaced the cabin filter. The car currently runs Rotella T6 synthetic.
I have since picked up a new hobby of cycling so I purchased a Yakima roof rack. I know, I know, another 8th gen with a rack, but it actually gets used so suck it.
My tires starting getting pretty bald so recently I ordered some BFGoodrich Sport Comp2's and had discount tire install them. Huge upgrade over the goodyears the car came with. I have yet to get them to break away at all.
That pretty much brings this up to date. The car gets driven everyday and looks like this most of the time
I plan to try and keep this updated with the little things I plan on doing. So far the car has been great for what I use it for!

Interested to see what you do with yours. Any idea what suspension you plan to use?
Ive had mine (08 FA5) since Dec '13 and they are definitely a great all around dd. I may start a thread on mine just because.
You experienced any rear tire chopping?

Thanks man, nothing much just something functional. I pretty much hate the 8th gen community in general.

Suspension idea right now are just a shock/spring combo. I don't want to buy some POS coilovers. I don't want to slam it, just something functional. I'll probably get in touch with Chris @ Redshift and get something through them. I have not experienced any tire chopping doe.

I got my setup from Chris and have been happy with it. Teins with Koni Orange. Id say maybe 10% ride quality lost at most and definitely doesnt slam it. I wholeheartedly agree about the 8th gen community - most are kids putting stupid wheels and dumping the **** out of the car.

Sure thing brahhhhh
Over the weekend I decided something needed to be done about my hazy headlights. I was putting it off as much as possible, but it was really driving me crazy so I went and picked up a 3M kit. I apologize for the iPhone pics. No more DSLR.

The passenger side headlight has some foggy/haze inside the lens. Not quite sure how I'm going to get that out, but overall I'm pleased. Not brand new but far better then they were.

Re: Scott's 09 FA5 Refresh.
Going to be awhile before it gets any major upgrades. First thing will probably be the brakes.
XXR's 4 life. But seriously, really the only wheels I've considered are Spoon CR93's, Mugen GP's and the HFP wheels. Not even RPF1's LOL
Not a major update but pick up this cool little Feel's Shift Plate from Matt @ ICB.
dont count out those RPF1's doe. Deals do come around. :D

I have my EG that I mess with. For the FA5 maybe some wheels and suspension nothing big. Really enjoy it stock don't really want to through money at something newish.

Re: Scott's 09 FA5 Refresh.
Picked up another Broadway. I left my old one in my Pathfinder when I traded it in. Also changed the oil, rotated the tires and inflated 5 psi over spec for this weekend's autocross. Will update with pictures over the weekend. The next change is probably going to be brakes. My class only allows changing the fluid and the pads so I'm going to run ATE type 200 for fluid and either Hawk HPS's full time or pick up some HP+ and swap them out before events. Leaning toward the HPS's though.

Re: Scott's 09 FA5 Refresh.
This is all I have for now. I ended up being the only person running G class, which is super disappointing because I know there are tons of 8th gens around Atlanta. So ended up first in my class, go me, and like 57th out of 84 overall. I was one of the few FF cars there and the only one that had tires with over 200 treadwear. I had a blast though. Myspace Tom came along
