Thanks mate!

Chassis goes in to paint tomoz. Did a few more 'bits' today tho:

Amazing how long sanding/prepping takes on a 4 door compared to a 2 door.

Couple of updates.

Car is out of paint, all the pillars/door frames have been painted too. I decided to go with a gloss (instead of the original satin black) to offset the grey which i think looks really good.

Also got my new windshield installed which looks freakin tops. Makes the car look minty!

I've gotta do a couple of things to the motor, but i'll hopefully be dropping it back into the chassis on the weekend before it gets moved to my new place for the rest of the assembly.

I'm so keen to get that front end on!

The way the fenders lined up deleted one of the holes and i didn't get a chance to cut it out pre-paint, nbd.

wheres the progress pix man!
I've been moving house so i only just got my computer set back up again. The car is coming along though. I wish i could keep track of all the little details i've spent so much time on, like plastic welding the holes left by the chrome trim on the sideskirts, but **** happens so fast when you're working on it all day you forget about things aye!

Today i got the motor dropped in though:

aaand most of the front end on

Still a long way to go though.

They were the biggest PITA. There's probably more than one way to do it, but you can't just cut in the middle of the wheel arch straight up, because the hatch fenders are a different 'height' to the sedan fender, so they don't line up.

Basically the back edge (where it meets the door) and from the molding down is sedan, the rest forward is hatch.

Also, where the hood hinge bolts to the chassis is higher on the sedan than the hatch (the sedan has a raised section that the hood bolts to that the hatch doesn't).

I just realised i haven't even put the rear bumper on with that exhaust yet lol.

I'm running a different rear bumper now, so it's going to be a surprise for both of us.

Can you please do this instead of selling?

The only thing i've really progressed with is getting the door harnesses and door cards back together:

Unfortunately the carpet that i took from the 35XT LE doesn't fit over the wider 4wd center tunnel, and the seats don't bolt in because they mount in a different location on the 4wd models.. So i'll have to have a think about what i'm going to do with that :/

Thanks mate.

A couple of reasons. Mostly because i prefer the aesthetic, but the prefacelift hood rubs on the DOHC ZC, so i could use the extra clearance. Also I feel that my car now looks as rare as it is. With the prefacelift front it looked like every other sedan (not a bad thing, i just wanted to set it apart from everyone else). Also, i was bored with how it looked.. Ive had this car for over 5 years now... Keepin it fresh
