Re: Intake manifold test results on a 1.8L Edelbrock ITR IBspec Take a look! -Revised
great test and info ! ... it confuses me though - its weird how an ITR manifold (designed for a 1.8L) gets beat by the pX IM on a 1.8L , but the ITR IM beats the pX on a 2.0L. I wonder how a skunk2 pro series or AEBS would do since they are similiar yet different.
It's also confusing the fact that the victorX is still a hit or miss with a 2.0L . Guess every setup is slightly different !

The S2 pro series and AEBS are so similar to the ITR intake that there there is very little difference between them when testing. There are other considerations when chosing either of those intake manifolds.
Thw Victor x really only works well on a 2L that's running a fair amount of compression and supporting modifications that is used for drag racing primarily.
The p30 will actually kick the ITR's *** in a 1.8L up to about 7000, then the ITR will dominate.

Yea again I don't have numbers cause the guys a cheap **** but there was a very noticeable difference especially when it hit vtec when he went from a 1st gen manifold to the ported 2nd gen. He has a cheap chip that has his vtec kicking in at 4.5k and it ran pretty well with the p30, stock 1st gen b16 with itr cams I,h,e

The pX manifold was 380 when it first came out. This test was done on a 1.8 liter. Back then i had my ITR..and i swapped my TWM ITBS out for the pX and it was justifed.. the power gains were worth the money..
BMC's manifold looks like a modded performerX manifold...i just can't see spending 700 on a manifold unless it blew a cnc ported victorX out of the water.. and i'm not buying it, to test it, and then find out it barely does anything over what i already had. Then i'm out of money , and who wants to buy something thats not worth the money..

BMC wants like 600-800 dollars for their manifolds, i can't justify that money unless i see serious gains...

Did you read the first page of this thread? The skunk pro series is more or less a replica of the ITR manifold and performs similar.

If anyone wants a certain manifold testing on a 2.0L.....send it to me. And i'll do it.
Or if you want it tested on a similar 1.8L that is in this thread....send me a manifold, but it has to be for a GSR head.

I really do hate you lol, this really makes me want to test the performer x on my setup against my skunk2 pro manifold.
