Built 2.0l Type R No Spark
Hi Guys,
Suddenly faced with a weird situation where am getting no spark. The car is fired up every few days to keep it running when all of a sudden few days back was faced with a problem where the motor would not come to life. Kept cranking couple of times only to realise that the motor was flooding and eventually came to the diagnosis that there was no spark.
Car is equipped with a Hondata S300V2 and have installed a Hondata Coil Pack retrofit. All the units involved show power coming on and after my mechanics have checked everything possible including swapping out the ecu I turn to this forum for assistance.
Pls guide me as to where I should be looking and how do I solve the issue.
This is a link to the actual build thread https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-mo...-cams-3143704/
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jignesh

What is the status of the 3 lights on the COP box? Be sure that the COP settings are to not fire the injector before synchronization. I've only encountered two issues with my CPR over the past 3 years or so.

HI,
Mechanical timing is perfect already checked for that as well. COP wiring is also perfect and all lights come on. My final suspicion is on the Hondata S300. Trying to get my hand on another Hondata to chk if that solves the issue.

Originally when setting up my CPR I followed procedures exactly and got a lot of cranking with no firing. I then re-uploaded my map with the CPR setting checked already and it fired right up. Mind this this was many moons ago and could have been a fluke in the software needing to re-upload my map.

Hi,
The CPR kit was installed almost 2 years ago and was working perfectly since then. It stopped working a few weeks back.

Re: Built 2.0l Type R No Spark
Update,
Sorry forgot to update the thread. Problem was diagnoised to a faulty ECU. The old ECU would not communicate with the laptop and used to get really hot. Replaced the ECU loaded the map and car fired up instantly. Any idea if I can get the damaged S300 repaired or do I just junk it.
Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
