budget d head build...
Heres the plan for the summer...
stock d15b2 block...check
right now
-mpfi swap d16a6 IM
-Megan header
-Si cam
-AEM 96-00 civic adj. cam gear(going on this weekend)
-NGK wires and iridium plugs
-PM6 ECU basic chip 8200rpm redline (I cant tell if its hurting or helping right now(gonna do a little dyno comparo b4 head build), its not running too rich though, feels like stock with higher redline)
-2.25 custom exhaust w/ high flow cat (like a catco)
-si trans.
so far so good...
the plan w/ extra d16a6 head
-mill 40 thousandths
-Y8 HG
-new oem seals where needed
-exo race cam
-ISKY valvetrain and ti. retainers
-mild port? DIY? Im not sure about this, i want to jsut clean up the ports a bit, especially the intake side...
-skunk2 IM (mo' $) or d16z6 IM w/ profab IM gasket
-ARP head studs
also which oem TB is the one that fits the skunk2 d IM perfectly?
then for tuning I have
-AEM cam gear
-B&M FPR
I dont know what program to run tuning, but I am guessing turboedit etc. I just need to know where to go to get it tuned, I am right by Hackensack NJ, which is where I would assume there would be a place....
any suggestions!?
I want to get to 130+whp NA without touching the block...
also do u think that putting a milled head on an unmilled block with 130k+ miles is a bad idea...as far as the surface being completely flat...I dont want to pull the block.
and please no d flaming, I hope we're all pass that by now....especially since many d's have been making good numbers. And Im just building what I got...
