B18c1 200whp goal...
I have a 98 gsr with i/h.e and plan on doing head work. I want to achieve 200whp. Wondering if you guys can help on any suggestions how to do so. Cams, pistons, valves etc. It's my daily driver too thanks.

Re: B18c1 200whp goal... (B18C1_TuneR)
You have a little spending ahead of you. Best to take things somewhat in sequence. Headwork isnt necessarily the first thing I would do. Unless you have the ability to tune your car, have a good enough cam in there and the means to move the right amount of air/fuel your money kinda gets lost.
If the motor is healthy your best bet is to go with a single plenum manifold and
64-65mm matched inlet/TB, get a header like hytech/rage/smsp/comptech race,
go 2.5" on the exhaust. for that kind of power you will need to spin the motor
to 8800-9G.
get a cam/valvetrain that can make power up to about 8600-8700. stock B18C1s are a litte soft in the compression area but you will make some of that up when you have it tuned. be sure before you spin the motor that you KNOW that the clearances down underneath are good and that you havent already stretched a
rod with your driving habits. alot of people misshift and dont ever check this. it
can kill your motor. having the rod bolts upgraded and the pistons changed to
b16 will help the cr, plus re-ringing is not a bad idea on an older motor.
alot of guys swear by the arp rod bolts, maybe get a set of those for your
GSR rods.
when you know the motor is ready for the abuse, you will be good to go.
head: stock
single plenum intake manifold/matched 64/65mmtb
310cc injectors
valvetrain/cams - search around
header/like above 2.5" exhaust
another point of compression 11.0-5:1
fully tuned
you should get close. then you can play with your cam selection and
dyno some changes. each motor is different, seems like alot of guys here
have gotten results like this out of 1.8 blocks. good luck!

Re: (AllMotorDan)
I feel like I can do this now, there is a video you can watch that follows this example. check it out in the sig and you can PM if you have any questions.
the mark was made with mainly oem parts and 200 less cc almost 3 years
ago now. good luck with your project!
