B16 Header options
I have been reading the forum about different test of headers, specially the
Budget Header Showdown at: https://honda-tech.com/all-motor-nat...-test-3005484/
I was planning to get a sk2 alpha series header (there is a v2 version now) for my B16 N/A engine , I don't have much work on it except pro intake, manifold and airfilter, but seems to be that wasting 430uss for the header from sk2 is a waste of money?
(always talking about Try-Y setup, of course).
I was wondering if your guys can give me your opinion and let me know which one would be the best replica to get, and where to buy it...
Please keep in mind that i am a little worried about ground clearance, as the car will not be with stock height for much longer...

Re: B16 Header options
The extra money on the v2 is pointless plus that was designed for use with a supercharger I believe or maybe it was too clear the PS pump assembly either way you don't need it.
I would say go with a RMF 4-1 replica lime this...pretty solid power and dunno proven design..the quality is good for the money imo

This one fits very clean and tight ago clearance isn't an issue unless you're a super stanced chassis dragger

Re: B16 Header options
In theory it makes sense but on a B16 the torque you would gain with a Tri Y would be very minimal compared to the top end peak power the 4-1 style Toda or RMF would achieve over that. It's your money so spend it on what you like but the power band of a B16 doesn't really support the balanced power idea...

Re: B16 Header options
Thank you very much for the links and tip, just wondering tho, and dont want to open another thread, what would be the main reasons for not saving 200bucks and getting a cheap 60bucks one? will it REALLY make worth the difference in a NA car?
it comes even in silver ceramic coat.... ( please dont kill me, just trying to understand a bit more on why spend extra 200usd on the header )

I would not put much confidence in the header from amazon fitting great or lasting too long. They usually break at the welds or flanges. The PLM will fit perfect and wont fall apart. Don;t spend money twice on a cheap unit.

Re: B16 Header options
But we are talking about saving 100usd for the sk2 due unnecessary cost, maybe the PLM 300uss compared to a cheap 50uss wasn't worth, just asking
Anyway, thanks for the time as usual and accept my 2 mins

Toda Replica on a B16. No comparisons here, but, it shows what it's capable of.
I have yet to dent it, scrape it, or rub it in reference to ground clearance.

Re: B16 Header options
Bumping this thread up, i have everything ready (money wise) to get the PLM Today Rep, as most of you recommended and I read is the most well spent money
now, which one is the exact product?
https://www.privatelabelmfg.com/Hond...aders_s/45.htm
I know original Toda headers have a V1 and V2 version, which one does PLM replicate? or which one should i get? anyone can confirm it with SKU number or something?
Regards,
PS: Remember we want t Try-Y Toda Replica V2

Re: B16 Header options
The Toda replica is the top one on the list of the link you posted. The "TA." Yes there is a V1 and 2, the only difference being between the two is the 2nd version is a one piece with reinforcement tabs by the flange. So I guess the PLM is a mix of both of them being one piece but no reinforcement tabs. I believe the replica is stepped also like the genuine one is.

Mine is the first version
