yall retarded?
98+ itr cams are the same as the ctr's
the 96 spec are 2 degrees smaller, it wont make a lick of difference in power.
use w/e you have thats the cheapest for you.

dude, get whatever is cheaper.
they are oem cams, your not going to make a ton of whp off of them
no matter what anyone tells you on here. They are all basically the same cam, with a tiny tiny bit of duration / lift varablitiy.. there's nothing that would make a drastic change.. Get w/e is ezer on your pockets.

you realize the pic you just posted, shows how to tell the different at the dizzy end of the cam, for each cam listed.
The ends are different.. look at the ends of the dizzy side.. its telling you to look for these when buying these cams to make sure they are real.
Like i told you before.. 98+spec are the same as ctr's.
pre 98 spec are a tiny, tiny bit smaller but it wont effect power level...

Re: 96 vs. 98 spec itr cams
I concur.
Alot of people do different setups to allow the cars to ultilize the power of the type-r cams.
Most people take their gsr springs.. which have dual on the intake, and single on the exhaust and just put another set of intakes on the exhaust so your running dual valvesprings.
But i'd not worry about the hassle and just get the type-r valvetrain. The valvetrain is good to 8500rpms and you shouldn't float a valve.

Re: 96 vs. 98 spec itr cams
ugh no. ctr cams will make more power. why did you think honda gave them alil more duration...plus, there was a thread comparing the two cams. guess what...ctr cams made more power than 96-98 itr cams. i tried looking for it but cant find it. not trying to prove you wrong or anything just letting the OP and everyone else know.

3 more degrees of duration isn't significant. If it was, why don't 00-01 ITR make more power than 97-98 ITR? They both make 195 bhp. Ask any real builder/tuner w/ experience, they will tell you the same.

Re: 96 vs. 98 spec itr cams
were they real ctr cams? any before and after dyno? plus, your friend is stupid to believe that ctr cams will gain 5-7hp over itr w/out any tuning.
itr to ctr cams is not a big difference but there is a difference. ctr cams will have a higher powerband than itr. read this thread so you can understand.

Re: 96 vs. 98 spec itr cams
I still don't understand the logic of buying used ITR/CTR cams when you can buy aftermarket stage 1 or stage 2 cams for about the same money and make more power. Buy a used set of Skunk2 Tuner 1s or 2s or used BC3+ if you are going to upgrade your valve train anyway. Any of them will out perform CTR cams.
