82mm piston on B18C1
I found out that Toda made forged 82mm piston for B18C. Is it safe to run 82mm on stock block without reselving or i am better off with running 81.5mm?
Thanks.

Re: 82mm piston on B18C1 (SkoundrelUSA)
I intend to run these 82mm piston in track race use, and engine will be seeing consistent 9000rpm shift point and over my country here, many racers says that 82mm pose too much stress on the very thin liner and it will crack after a couple of race!
This worry me as i won't be able to replace new block and rebuilt every couple of races.. Need a reasonable quick setup that can at least last a season of race with 6 meetings.. Every race weekend i cover about 150km racing km..
What other options are there for forged piston in 82mm other than Toda?

I really don't know whether 1mm will matter that much or not and i saw another thread here asking whether to 81mm or 82mm.
But track racing here is so competitive now and many people run 81 or 81.5mm here. New regulation states we can have the engine capacity to 1900cc without touching stroke, so i guess the only way is to bore them up a bit to gain as much power as we could to keep competitive times.
So i'm just looking at building another motor for the new series but wanted it to be reliable cost can't afford to keep rebuilding the engine after every meeting.
My current setup with stock ITR bottom end with just mill and ported head, TODA C cams delivered only 174.5whp at dyno dynamics dyno. You think this is kinda low?

the toda pistons are so light and the oil ports are top notch ... built a setuo like that for a customer about 4yrs ago and this guy street races everyday lol i just posted the block for extra rigidity so the sleeve doesnt float... better than the blockguard
youll be fine with those
btw get a set of light pro a rods to top it off

Re: 82mm piston on B18C1 (CHEETAH)
Thanks for the advise.
Heard great things about TODA pistons but they are actually really expensive to get it over here.
In fact i found out USA made pistons are actually cheaper and i can source CP X-Style Forging piston 12.5:1 but only in 81.5mm.
Many were recommending me to us Wiseco pistons. Which is better CP X-Style or Wiseco??

i believe toda is expensive either way.
I asked this same question in hopes of some serious builders input like Rocket, Tbone, Omni ect. but i didnt get much feedback.
I was thinking of using the RS machines cast pistons that are available in 82mm.

What is the intended use of your setup? Do you plan on running any spray in the future?
IMO a cast piston would be suffice if you were daily driving your car and hitting the races on the weekend (ie. not strictly a race car). I pretty sure a cast piston is avaliable in 82 mm.

Re: 82mm piston on B18C1 (Chillinit)
It is a proper track car strictly for race use only. Race regulations does not allow NOS. All motor mods only restricting to std B18C block.
