Just picked up my new Accord
Hey all
Picked this up yesterday: 2004 Accord 2.2 i-CTDi Executive with only 40k on the clock.
140bhp & 251lb/ft @ 2000rpm.
I love it to bits, all the toys are great and it handles really well too. After putting about 140 miles on it in less than a day - just driving around for the sake of it - the verdict so far is that it's fantastic!
Plans are some 18in or 19in Enkei/BBS/Volk/Works - i keep changing my mind on the size then drop it on some coilovers, slap on a Euro R lip kit and call it a day. Oh, there is a remap available which gives you +30bhp and +50lb/ft that i might go for too.

Thanks mate, i don't think the wheels are too bad either but they'll still be getting replaced.
The remap is by Superchips. Info here, you can select car make/model on the right hand side. http://www.superchips.co.uk/superchips.php

Yeah, you guys dont get oil burners. It's Common Rail (the method of diesel delivery, for want of an easier expression) Turbo Diesel. Executive is just the trim level, it's the range topper.

Not really, no. The easiest thing to do would be to link you to how common-rail diesel injection works.
Good info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_rail See "Priniples" for an overview.
Modern common-rail turbo engines are quiet, refined, clean, quick and frugal on fuel (i'm seeing around 40-42mpg at the moment)... nothing like previous generation diesels that were noisey, vibrated badly, were dirty and severely lacked power.

hey how much would it cost for one of those motors? i would be seriously interested in one as for gas economy!

I honestly have absolutely no idea. I'm pretty sure the hassle of having one flown across with all the other necessary gubbins you'd need would make it too impractical to be fair. What you'd gain in economy you'd lose in all the other costs, and probably then some.

Re: Just picked up my new Accord (Yoshimi_Vs.)
Nice looking car, I noticed that your rear bumper doesn't have the muffler cut-outs. And at first glance no chrome door sills. Those would like nice if you could get a pair that said Honda on them. The car looks very nice - clean - sharp....
Do you have a better picture of front with the fog lights ? Were the foglights OEM ?
I sort like the way they look better than the USDM OEM fog's. Could you post a picutre of the front to get a better look at the foglights.
Thanks
Congrats on your new car

Re: Just picked up my new Accord (tsxed)
Cheers mate Kind words.
You're right about the rear bumper, as it's a turbo diesel the silencer pipe faces downwards toward the floor and the bumper kinda goes in front of it so it cant be seen. It's common practice on turbo diesels here, it's only now that the very latest Euro 5 and 6 compliant diesels have horizontal silencer outlets as the crap they kick out is so much cleaner than Euro 3 and 4.
And no, there are no sill strips although it was a cost option but clearly the original purchaser of it didn't bother. I think i will end up getting some though.
Yes the fogs are OEM, here's a better picture of them:
N/S (your drivers side)
O/S (your passenger side)
Any good?

Awesome thanks they look very nice, I'll assume they have a switch on the dash as well, I know in England you can only use the fog's when they are needed and not just for show much like here lol !!!
Cool best of luck with the car
Thanks once again for the pic's
