gas mileage questions
So ive had my 06 tsx 6spd for alittle over a month now and Im curious about my mileage results. Its at about 105k miles, had a tune up with ngk irridium plugs. It has a new parts store air filter and new hankook ventius tires on tl rims and the tires are about 0.6" taller than factory (235/50/17 I think). I have not done a valve lash adjustment yet, but did do a wynns fuel system service. Over the last 2500 miles it has burned no oil (5w30 synthetic blend), and I use BP ultimate 93 octane fuel.
All of my fuel mileage averages are from the instant or tank averages from the dash. The mileage is very close to those when calculated at the pump too.
Im getting 25-30 mpgs in the city and around town (I dont drive as aggressively as I do in my prelude) my average back and forth to work about 14 miles a day is 26 mpg.
However my highway mileage is in the very low 20's. My two road trips so far were 20 and 22 mpg in 30-45 degree (f) temps at 65-70 mph using cruise on fairly flat Indiana roads. Two people with about 200lbs in the trunk. Does this seem normal for these cars because when I was looking to buy the advertised mpgs were 19-30. Which is almost opposite of what Im getting.
You guys got any insight for me? Thanks guys.

Re: gas mileage questions
i got about 34 on highway and 20-24 in the city.
the mpg on the display is pretty inaccurate in my experience. divide miles driven by how many gallons filled.

Re: gas mileage questions
The best way to track your MPG is by using Fuelly.
Here are my stats: http://www.fuelly.com/driver/bnetkillzone/integra
Just be light on the throttle, and not too much RPM's, but the first one is more important.
I actually just got 31.5 MPG going to Wekfest and racing with ppl on the freeway and just plain gas wasting. I probably floored it like 10 times and got it up to 100.
Back on topic: I usually shift at around 2500-3000k RPM's, coast down big hills or to stops in gear, and put it into neutral whenever coasting would slow me down too much.

Re: gas mileage questions
Like I said above my in city is great at 25-30 mpg as confirmed by calculating at the pump, but its the highway driving at constant speeds around 65-75 mph that was giving me lower results than expected.
I have several more road trips lined up so ill continue to monitor the mileage and see what I can figure out.
Thanks - Nathan
