Opinions on ACT Prolite 8.8 lb flywheel?

Opinions on ACT Prolite 8.8 lb flywheel ???......
installing my ACT HDSS clutch tomorrow and i was wondering if anyone with an R has any experience with this new unit.
it's chromoly, so i'm sure it'll be pretty tough.
also, i have a question about flywheels in general:
will i lose low-end power with a lighter flywheel?
for example, if i'm cruising on the highway at 3500-4500 rpms and then floor it in fifth gear to pass someone, will i have less power to move? (or will the car accelerate even quicker?)

I have that flywheel it's cool. The lower the gear you are in the more you will notice the gain. Example first gear should feel really good second a little less noticeable and so on by the time you get to fifth it doesn't feel like much, but no decreases and of course in neutral it feels like it revs really quick.

I'm using it and its a very nice little mod. I'm still working on my heel-toe technique but talk to Chris N about how if felt to him. Its awesome for rev-matching and will increase the response of the car a bit (little more accel like mentioned before).

Great flywheel, weight wise. BIG difference in feel, when you hit the gas in any gear, the car feels as if it is reving faster. With less rotational mass, I suppose it IS reving faster.
Anyways, easy to heel toe with such a lightweight flywheel. Looks great, too, as in construction. You won't lose power and should be happy with it. Just remember you're going to be revving alot when in a parking lot backing up or pulling up a driveway with an incline. Vroom Vroom.

You must not be able to drive. I hear you parking your kaa only because you gotta rev a bit more than stock when parking.

I don't think so. I have an 8.8, not much difference, and I have no problem daily driving, I will go even lighter if I do it again.

I had one in my R and liked it better than stock in every way. The only downside I noticed at all was that you had to rev a little more when starting off. And even then the difference was hardly noticeable.

NO, I have the comptech 6.75 and its fine for everyday- infact I would never use another heavy FW again.

Eh? Friction surface is replaceable? On a the Prolite chromoly flywheel?
And actually add something to this thread, I would've gotten the ACT Prolite if it was in stock/available when I had my short notice FD upgrade. Ended up with a Toda but I'm sure the ACT would've just as nice.

I have it and love it.
Only thing I noticed about it is that whenver I'm going from 5th to 3rd now, I have to rev match it twice b/c the revs drop a tad faster and I'm not paying attention.

I also installed the ACT HDSS setup with a Prolite flywheel 2 weeks ago. The flywheel is the best mod so far, you will accelerate a lot faster with it. You will like it for sure.
