Re: Nasty noise in reverse!!!
My civic has done this pretty much ever since I put integra rear discs on it (over 5 years ago). Only does it in reverse and it's definitely coming from the rear brakes. I've always believed it was just noise from the semi-race pads.
If you search you will find reverse squeals and creeks are common among many performance cars. Especially ones with Brembo multi-piston calipers. My Acura TL Sport (front Brembo 4-pots) will squeal in reverse every so often. I think it's just a common trait of performance pads.

Re: Nasty noise in reverse!!!
My 1998 Accord EX just started making this weird "moose whine" noise from the rear, but only in reverse. It started immediately after the car sat in the driveway a week while we were gone for Christmas.
I'm going to check the back brakes, rotor this weekend...while trying to apply grease to an exposed front axle and wrap with plastic and duct tape.
I'm quite the mechanic.

It was ALL brakes. I thought I'd done the back brakes, but was confused with my other old Honda. Replaced the pads and NO noise.

Re: Nasty noise in reverse!!!
I just encountered the same noise and after a lot of inspection and verification that everything else was good I found that one of the boots on my passenger side rear caliper slide pin was damaged and dried out. The pin had to be tapped out of the caliper. Replaced the boot, greased & anti-siezed everything appropriately and am hoping I dont get this moose whine tomorrow morning when I take my car out of the garage.
edit: Nope. That wasn't it. Actually it made the groaning sound abuot 10X worse.
edit2: Replaced the caliper and it seems to be good again. The piston seemed to be firing, and retracting, like it should but it must have been on it's way out.

Re: Nasty noise in reverse!!!
Check the bolts that hold the caliper, to make sure they are really flush with the metal, not just tight. I had that moaning noise going in reverse and when braking. I checked the brakes, cleaned the pads and rotors, then went to install the bolts, I found I couldn't tighten the bottom bolt completely. I replaced the bolt and the noise is gone.
