5th will bump off the rev-limiter if you have enough road.

Only if you have enough power, stock R's won't do it. Also people, keep in mind that the stock speedo/tach are both off.

They are calibrated to be most accurate at speeds that most people drive at. I would assume that the accuracy is different depending on where you live also. But here in the states...most people are going 80 or below...so they use mechanisms that are accurate at speeds revolving around standard driving. If you go beyond that...they lose accuracy quickly becuase the sensors weren't really designed to be accurate faster than 100 or so.

these are the newest #'s
1st, 40mph@86oo
2nd, 70mph @8600
3rd, 98mph@8600
4th, 120mph@8600
5th, 144-146mph@7500
all have increased but the only way it's been checked is by the chp who said the car was going over 140 back when the speedometer stopped at 140.

I did out the math for a USDM ITR on 205/50R15 tires at 8500 RPM.

Gear / Top speed (MPH)
1 / 41.1
2 / 63.0
3 / 91.0
4 / 119.8
5 / 156.4
R / 40.6
