Default rear brake is locked up as soon as its all bolted down

I am working on putting a 97 integra LS back together. Putting new pads and rotors on the back. One side is together. The driver side was put together but when assembled it wont spin.

We have tried:
Different pads
Different rotor
Different slide pins
Getting all rust off brackets

The pads seem to fit fine, the caliper slides over the pads okay, doesnt seem like its tight agianst them. And if you hold it there, the rotor will spin. As soon as you put in the bolts for the caliper (slide pin bolts) and tighten them down it locks up and wont turn.

Too me it seems like something is obviously out of whack someplace. IDK if its likley that the caliper has physical damage causing it to not align properly (no visable damage), but i was just wondering if anyone had any other possible ideas to try before replacing the caliper.

Did you turn the caliper piston all the way back into the bore?

Yes b Serious it is turned all the way in, and is not tight against the pads when sliding it over them

What kind of response did you expect....refurbish the caliper pistons and seals? There's not much to a brake caliper. Don't make it harder than it is.

Likely not a bad caliper. The brakes lock up as soon as it's bolted down. A bad caliper/out of adjustment e brake would surface after the brakes have actually been operated.

OP....Does the nub on the back of the pad line up with the slot in the caliper piston?

True to a point. The only way to tell if the calipers are stuck in the "lock" position is if the wheels and rotorss are hot (temperature). Had this before on two different cars, one being an Integra.

That was my thoughts as well.. I'm not sure I know what you mean by nub on back of pad?

check a bumper to bumper, their brake components are very reasonable. If there is one by you, an If your just trying to pick up and repair.

There's an alignment peg or nub on the backing plate of the INBOARD pad (the one with the squeak indicator). That pad has to be placed inboard and the peg needs to be aligned with the slot on the caliper.
