I want to get my teg repainted and I glanced at Maaco as well as those 1/2 day paint services.
I got my old integra repainted at one of those places and it didn't turn out to be a bad choice.

I got my old teg painted by Maaco 4years ago, they did a great job.. just told them in detail what i wanted and I got the best stage paint, than I talked to the painter and made sure he knew what i wanted and gave him extra $150... I spent like $1300 on paint job.. that includes 2 clear coats.
Only thing is i never saw what it would look like in 2years, cuz I totaled the car 3weeks after I got it back. and I only took 3 pics of the car .. lol

I think the guy was asking if they would ONLY paint the jambs for $200.
Like, paint the jambs at Maaco for $200 then take it somewhere else to get the exterior body painted w/ different paint.

$280 Maaco paint job from 1999. It was a similar $200 special, but they charged me extra for painting the underside of the trunk lid (was a new trunk and only primer on both sides), to do a 2nd coat (they do 1 coat normally), and to use a "custom color" (factory color match).
9 years later, and the only issues are cracking where the steel roof sits on the back deck (when installed) and some chipping at the edges of the wheel wells. The back deck is hardly their fault, as its a painted metal to painted metal contact point where it shouldn't touch anyway.
I also made certain to talk to the painter (not just the sales guy) first. Be friendly, and they'll take better care of your car.
I should mention, they did get overspray on:
windshield
side windows
tires
interior trim (upper door panel, behind seats)
exhaust

friend of mine works at the body shop next door from maaco place. he said they spray good but don't take their time in prepping the car so you pay for what you get

oh yea, i asked them about prepping the car your self. i talked to both sales person and tech they said it's fine if i do the body work and get car ready to paint but they are doing masking :? and me doing body work voids the warranty on their work

Re: (qazaq)
i say just do it. what $200.00 going to do, its not like ur wasting a $1000.00 for a crappy paint.. dont get me wrong not all maaco shops do a horrible job wit that $200.00 but its way better than rolling or spraying ur own..

Re: Maaco Paint Job have questions (Neptronix)
anyone have any updates on this? I'm in the process of switching my 97 integra's bumpers to 98+ so I'm gonna need to repaint the whole car. I don't need a perfect paint job, just a decent repaint. I remember taking my 90 integra to 1 day paint and body and it came out very decent. Of course I sold the car 6 months later.
