Integra Leaking Oil, not cam seals what else could it be?
Alight, I replaced my cam seal thinking that this was the cause of the oil leak, because I did see drips of oil coming from it.
Well, two weeks later, I still see oil dripping from the tranny and the shiftlinkage. just drips, and drips of oil. not as bad as before, but still notice some oil leaking.
And the axle seal has been replaced when i blamed the mechanic for the leak when they did my axles.
so, that leaves me with two areas to where the leaking is coming from.
1) tranny near the flywheel cover
2) shiftlinkage area
anyone know if i have 2 more seals leaking or what?
rear main seal?
shiftlinkage seal or something?
I'll take it to the mechanic as my last resort.

i just read that you had the axles replaced...ive had my seals leak because my axles were messed up when i bought them. i replace them with a different set...and voila leaks gone. just a thought have you done a oil change lately....that you might have leaked oil from the filter area? also didnt you just do a 5-speed swap? was the main seal leaking when you changed driveplate o the flywheel?

would it be a big help if i took some pictures.
i hoping its something easy to do and not the rear main seal.
where exactly is the reverse sensor?
might be it cuz i didnt hookup my reverse light yet after the auto to manual conversion.

yes pics would help, i believe the reverse sensor is on the bottom passenger side of the transmission near the radiator.

Looks like one of me seals is ripped on the shift linkage.
Close up of ripped seal
You can see it on this pic, that the rubber seal is ripped. But doesnt look like there is where the oil is leaking.
Oil build up
Ripped seal
Traces of wet oil all under

Re: (verbose assassin)
most likely it's the rear main seal i had the same issue
seal is like $22 bucks at the dealer, also you should change
your clutch disc to its probly soak with oil and won't grab for ****
just letting know so you don't have to pull out your tranny twice.

no not really it could be your oil pan gaskets, oil filter not tight enough....alot of things, then moain thing is did you have that oil leak while you were doing the auto-manual swap.

Re: (projectTeG)
before the auto to manual swap, i did have a small leaking that was running onto the tranny. that was prolly the cam seals.
it wasnt as bad as now.
before, all i could see were oil buildup under the auto tranny.
now, theres mad buildup on the oil pan, and tranny, and pretty much wet all under the tranny area and under carrage. i'll check my oil filter tonight.

Here's what I would do-
"GUNK" all that junk off the bottom end of the engine- clean it all up. Get all the oil buildup off and that will help you loads. Buy some oil dye (NAPA) and put it into your engine. Driver a day or two, and use a blacklight to see wwhere the oil is leaking from.
You'll never tell with all that mess you have now- gotta be clean!!

easy way to tell if its leaking is to see if the backside of the FW is covered in oil. take the cover off and check, i still dont think its the main seal. but ive seen stranger things.

Bingo! That's a MUST every time you have trouble tracing an oil leak...clean the hell out of your motor. After that, you will definitely find the source of the leak.
Use a good engine cleaner that has the foaming action. And use a large brush to scrub off the heavy grease.
I predict what everyone else is saying: rear main seal. Have you tried popping out the flywheel cover yet?

Re: (verbose assassin)
i dont know if this helps but, I just did a motorswap b16 to b18c and reused my b16 tranny instead of the gsr tranny. Well i just fixed a leak today. I couldnt figure out where this oil was coming from, but i knew it was from my tranny, cause i wasnt losing any motor oil. So i drained my tranny, and what do you know, no oil. So i replaced the oil. Left the car on jacks and fired the car up and put it thru everygear, then i jumped out of the car and looked to see where the oil was coming from. The axle seal! the halfshaft side. So i took out the halfshaft and axle, inspected the axle seal. turns out, the opening of the axle seal was bigger then the actual halfshaft shaft (the end that enters the tranny). so i took an axle seal from my spare gsr tranny and compared the too, the gsr one had a smaller opening so I slipped it over the shaft and it fit snug. NO more leaks. So maybe your problem might be a wrong axle seal. Sorry for the long post.

Flywheel looks dry, however, the block looks heavy in OIL. </TD></TR></TABLE>
dude id honestly say thats your oil pan gasket, put your better off just cleaning the engine and going from there.

there basically are the same thing. if you used mt then it has a gear oil smell to it. clean the whole bottom of the engine off and see where it leaks from. i think its the oil pan gasket, or axle seals.
