Default Car drives in neutral! Help!

Ok so the other day I turned my car on and while it was warming up the car bogged like if it wanted to move and all the sudden it turns off. When I turn it back on, I released the clutch pedal and it cut off again. I tried putting it in gear and drive and it doesn't move and if I let go of the clutch it turns off..goes in all gears but 5th and none of them is possible of driving.. I could drive in neutral but can't pass like 4k rpm... Help please

Check your shift linkages or bushings. Could aslo be your shift fork.

something is causing your clutch to not fully disengage. check the above mentioned items as well as the slave and master cylinders and fluid level.

Do you have any oil in the transmission?

Have you recently replaced your clutch?

Why are people saying its a clutch or hydraulic system failure? He pushes the clutch in and the car is fine. He lets the clutch out IN NEUTRAL and the car dies. That sounds like a trans or shift linkage/fork failure. The trans should be in neutral, but it's in some gear instead.

Hasn't been logged on to the site in nearly nine years... so even if the OP solved it, I wouldn't expect a response.
