Default Balljoint installation. Air Tool needed??

Im about to replace my worn lower ball joint with spoon bumpsteer. I wonder if I need an impact gun to drive the balljoint press tool or "manpower with a rachet" would be powerful enough to press the balljoint in???

I hammered the old ball joint out with a hammer and then pressed the new one in with a hammer also. Only i wouldn't advise using the hammer to press in your SPOON ones in because when I did mine with a hammer it chewed up the top metal portion of the ball joint...just food for thought.

It would definitely be easier with air tools. they do make electric impacts it you don't have access to air, they work good too. Definitely don't try putting it in with a hammer. Like the guy above me said you will chew it up.

Good luck!

you can use a hammer, just don't hammer directly on the joint lol. use a socket the appropriate size. or you can suck the joint in with the nut.
just make sure to use some emery cloth in the bore so it's good and clean. that way goe in smoothly and seats proper
