Default 96 GSR rotten ,eggs

When I step on the gas i get a rotten egg smell and a ploom of smoke out my tail pipe but it doesnt smell like oil or coolant. Aslo when I took off the headers i noticed some carbon biuld up on the exhaust side of the head from the number 1 and number 2 cylinders.

Cars make that smell with a catalytic converter when they are running rich.

Time to replace the catalytic converter..

Jack the car up and tap on the cat with a rubber mallet and see if it sounds like the honeycomb inside the cat is looser / rattling around..

Your car is supposed to run rich at heavy throttle. It is programmed that way from the factory. Realistically, you need to do nothing.
